I know we don't much about WBB on here, but what she did tonight deserves some recognition.

She scored 51 points on 20/27 shooting with 12 rebounds (10 offensive). She has some of the best stats ever put up in our WBB Program History, but this one broke both the school and ACC record (including when UConn was in the conference...). Huge props, and what a way to close out her career at UC.

Yeah, I think she is in the running for Player of the year or something like that. It was on the Bearcat insider last week or 2 weeks ago. Was one of the finalist for the award.

She’s like Danny Fortson- she gets the ball inside the paint she is taking it up strong. It’s either going on or you foul her.

Last I saw she was #5 on the school all-time scoring list.

Only other Bearcat besides Oscar to score 50 in a game.

Wow.

And efficient, too. 20-of-27 from the field. Definitely not a Pistol Pete-style ballhog.

How many UC players have made the WNBA? A quick Google search turned up KB Sharp. Anyone else?

One would think Bev Obringer would have made the WNBA. Was there a WNBA back in the late 1980's?

She played overseas for many years. So much that I believe she now lives somewhere overseas permanently. I think Australia.

As others have said, this was a historic accomplishment that may never be duplicated by a men's or women's basketball player at UC again. Congratulations to Ilmari; it's certainly a bright spot in what has been a most unusual season for many.

We were able to attend a couple Bearcat women's games last season at 5th/3rd and it's a great experience sitting up close to the action. I hope we can keep our coach; I think she could really build a program here.

This is cool. Would love to see our women's team in the tournament regularly and, also Michelle Clark-Heard here for a long time.

Unfortunately, while Thomas is having some stellar individual performances, the team is not doing so hot this year. The sad thing was, they were very likely going to get an at-large to the NCAA last year before it was cancelled, which would've been the first in a LOOOOOOONG time, coming on the heels of their NIT performance in 18-19 it could've been a great way to propel the program forward to new heights...now, though, MCH has to battle a 5-15 season and continued perception issues instead on the the recruiting trail. On the plus side, we do have two very highly touted freshmen this year to build upon for the future. Shame we can never capitalize on any of the high-end area talent. The Cincinnati metro-area is consistently one fo the better recruiting markets for women's basketball and always ends up with a few Top 100 girls, and the '22 class actually has 5 girls ranked in the Top 50 of the class.

she's been very enjoyable to watch. Amazing talent. I hope the women's team finds someone to even play 1/2 as well as she did. Good luck to Imari in her future in the WNBA or overseas. She'll make a ton of money.

Unlike football and men's hoops, girl's basketball recruits seem to value OSU, out of state or even the MAC over UC. Its been this way for a long time, even before MCH.

WNBA started in the mid-90's. I want to say around 1996 or 1997. I feel like I remember watching a game during the inaugural season the summer before 7th grade, which was 1997. I remember that summer because it was the summer of my first, and only move as a kid. Hope I'm not making anyone feel too old. 03-old

Congrats to Ilmari Thomas! I know the women's team is having a rough year, but it's good to see a senior showing out.
