Coastal drops the rubber match 10-9. Duke takes the series 2-1.

11 errors thru 3 games for CCU. Has to change. Two 8th/9th inning blown bullpen games. Ditto.

USA is right there too. In our 3 games we have committed 7 errors, which is definitely uncharacteristic of a South Alabama team. In yesterday’s rubber game, we lead 5-3 going into the 9th. In the top of the 9th with 1 out our right fielder misplayed a ball (he seemingly lost it in the clouds). That ball dropped for a “hit” but should have been another error. Then two bloop singles, a wild pitch, sac fly, and single up the middle it was 6-5 in SEMO’s favor. The Jags tied it back in the bottom of the 9th before losing in 10 - partly due to an error by our centerfielder.

AState's game with #1 Ole Miss has been postponed again as field in Oxford is not playable after all the snow last week. They are going to try to play Wednesday, but no guarantees there either.

We'll play a game one day, we promise.

RE: Baseball Opening Weekend
Cajun pitcher Spencer Arrighetti (ex TCU via JUCO) had a no hitter through 6 innings and left the game in the seventh with two outs giving up nine strike outs, one hit, and one walk against a good hitting LaTech team last night. He was our fourth starter in the rotation. It was very impressive to hold them to three hits for the game.

Cajuns vs LSU tonight on the ESPN+ stream for those interested. Fifth game in six days so I'm hoping our pitching can keep it close.

Georgia Southern hammers College of Charleston 18-7...a team that was 12-2 last year including a win over Clemson and is expected to be among the top teams in the CAA.

Well, Cajuns didn't have it tonight losing to LSU 11-2. Three unearned runs in the second inning put them behind, and never could get the bats going consistently all game. Best chance to make it close was probably the 8th with the bases loaded and no outs down 6-2, the batter hit a rocket back up the middle that the pitcher stabbed and doubled off the runner at first. Pitching gave up 14 hits (6 of them in the top of the 9th) with 8 walks and defense had 4 errors leading to 4 unearned runs. Overall not a good game.

Last night was frustrating to say the least. Louisiana made every mistake possible to allow Louisiana State to be successfully. Maybe we can get some payback in a regional come June!

Texas State beat Sam Houston State yesterday at the Rangers new ballpark. 3-2 on the season so far. Searching for a weekend opponent as Lamar canceled on us. Rumor floating around that Vanderbilt is coming to San Marcos but unconfirmed and possibly just an untrue rumor.

We've also been uncharacteristically sloppy to start the season defensively like others have mentioned about their teams.
