RE: Questions for a Post COVID19 US?
1) Will there be movie theaters?
I think so. I see it transitioning more towards the type of theatre that has the more comfortable seating with bar/food service. Personally, I still enjoy going to the movies. My TV at home is nice, but the big screen/booming sound system at the theatre is better.
2) Have we seen the end of buffet style restaurants?
Doesn't bother me either way. I used to work at a restaurant that did buffet, and I can't see them changing it up. They did have a menu option, too, but the draw was the buffet and the AYCE broasted chicken. I think buffets still exist in some capacity, but perhaps not as prevalent. We pushed back our wedding reception to this summer and changed the meal from buffet to plated dinners because of Covid.
3) a. Are big box stores doomed?
Probably. But they were pretty much doomed even before Covid. This will just accelerate things.
b. Shopping Malls
Same as 3a.
4) Will large corporate offices continue?
I think they'll continue, but we'll definitely see a reduction. My wife's company told them that even after this is done, they have the option to work at home if they wish. They'll keep their office space for meetings and for people who prefer to work from an office. But I can see them downsizing their office space by 1/3 to 1/2 of their current square footage. Personally, I prefer to go into to office. I feel more productive not being at my house. Plus, in my line of work, it's nice to be able to knock on someone's office/walk to someone's cubicle if I have a design question.
Maybe this will help cool off the real estate market in larger cities now that it has been shown you don't need to be in the city to get your work done. If your place of employment is cool with you working remotely, why not live in a more quiet area with a cheaper cost of living?
5) Sit down restaurants
I think this one will come back fine to pre-covid levels. I really enjoy dining-in occasionally. Don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning up, just enjoy the experience. We do take-out roughly once a week currently in order to help keep afloat our local restaurants, but once things fully open back up, I can't see us doing carry out too often.

Our school district gave the kids a snowday earlier this month. They wanted to let the kids be kids and enjoy the snow. I hope they continue to exist as they were one of my favorite parts of my childhood.
I remember when I was in school, we were allowed to have 5 snow days a year without having to make up school. Since my school was pretty rural, we oftentimes ended up with 7 or 8 snow days per year. They would shorten our spring break, tack on an hour to the school day, or add days to the end of the year in order to make that up. Ideally, they could go virtual now once the snowday cap is hit that way they don't need to add days to the school year.
