It always seemed as though BW left 1/3 of his offense out of the game. Never understood why he wouldn't involve his TE's more. I'll be thrilled to see the TEs getting involved.

Every year it was "We're going to be using TEs more this year"

I never understood why we didn’t implement them more under the old regime. We have always had athletic guys at the position. But Ricky has plenty of history showing he knows how to use tight ends from his previous stops. So I expect we will finally start to get more value out of the position.

Seems there are two choices. Wilders staff did not know how to use the tight ends or did not really want to. I lean toward the former.

There have been many game situations throughout the last decade where I wished we had a big guy with good hands to run the seam. Maybe we will finally see it in the coming years.

They didnt want a TE at first. Ran 4 wides.

The. vaughan came along and they wanted the TE to help more in the running game and he was more of a large WR. Just liked the TE to run block more than anything.

I also think that since we had a pretty thin O line that they used the TE as another pass blocker to give the QB more time.
