RE: "Rankings" thread for the season
I think many are overlooking our trend over the 2nd half, with the new offense and with Deandre fully acclimated.
Since DW's been in, we've lost only 3 games by a total of 10 points.
It's understandable that the national pundits are overlooking this.
It will be puzzling if the committee overlooks this.
It is ridiculous that our own fans are overlooking this.

2nd in scoring, rebounding and assists. 1st in minutes and steals.

If Deandre was cleared from the start we would have 3 or fewer losses right now...

I say we win both Tulsa games AND Auburn.

But there are so many what ifs this year with everyone this year.

The issue is we are going to have to beat Houston to make into the big dance. If WSU was the 2 seed I would say we could make it without beating Houston...WSU as the 2 seed we can get a solid win in the tourney and lose to Houston twice. That definitely solidifies us as the #2 team in the AAC. I still say they grade on a curve this year and give us 2.

RE: "Rankings" thread for the season
Unfortunately, and partially due to the Covid cancellations, winning out all the way to the title game would still give us less than a 50% chance to get an at large. We just don’t have any real quality wins. One win at Houston I don’t think will be enough. We had our chances. We can still win the tourney and remove all doubts

If we win out until the title game we are well into the tourney.

That would give us 2 wins over Houston...both Quad 1.

Heck we likely are close to being ranked if we do that.

One win against Houston... unless we get a 4 seed in the tourney. If 2 or 3 then we play opposite them in the bracket. Our numbers just cant get good enough. We would be in the bubble discussion but unlikely to make it

No way we would be a one bid league, and we would be the clear #2 if we win our next two.

We will not jump Wichita state.

They are not a bubble team! They are in the field. We need a win at Houston and a run to title game. And we will still be watching the selection show holding our breath

If the bracket breaks the right way and we could beat Wichita state we would take their spot

If we beat Houston, they become the 2seed and we will have to play them again to make it to the title game.

Well Lunardi has us next 4 out right now. Win the next 2 and we're on the right side of the bubble.

You seem to get confused on now vs scenario planning.

if we beat houston, we become the 2nd seed

memphis 12-3 winning pct .800
houston 13-4 winning pct .765

but we would still have to play them again to make the title game

but

if wichita state does not play any more games and does
not reach the minimum conference requirements (75% of the average games play by all of the conference members) then wichita state will be seeded 11th and memphis and houston will move up 1 spot

If we win out, we are either the 1- or 2-seed in the AAC.
Wichita would be the other 1- or 2-seed (depending on what they do their last 2 games).
Houston would be 3-seed.

So if we win out to the title game, we could play Houston in the finals or the semis.

No way we would be the 4 seed and no way Houston would be the 1 seed.

Good breakdown.
We could still become the 1-seed if Wichita drops one of their remaining games.

How many games do the Shockers have left ..2? and then the conf trny-----what if they lose all 3---are you still contending they are "in the field" ?
