RE: Football Coaching Change
I've been caught up in a lot of other things lately so I hadn't posted on this sooner. About two weeks ago CC hosted a zoom meeting to introduce Coach Coughlin to the O-line parents. Class move on the part of both coaches!

Coach Coughlin seems like a great guy who is sincerely excited to be at Eastern. He seems fully on-board with CC's priorities (developing quality young men who excel in the classroom as well as on the field and in life in general). From a parent's perspective, he has a good background, great attitude, solid priorities, and a focus on building on the success the O-Line has seen recently. I, for one, am excited about what he could mean to this program!

CC talked about his personal priorities in the search for a new O-Line coach, and I'm sure those will apply as he looks to fill other open positions: 1) Cultural Fit; 2) Expertise coaching the position; 3) A sense it would be a good marriage with the program and CC; and 4) Someone who sincerely wants to be at EMU.

Thanks. CC is true to whom CC is. He doesn't make Faustian deals with the devil to win games.

Runs the type of program where parents can sleep well at night/

Looks like a young and upcoming coach that will benefit working with CC. Glad he on board before spring football.

Thanks for sharing!

Honestly I cannot think of better search criteria.

Les Miles OUT at Kansas. I have long been worried about Kansas hiring CC. Hope that doesn't happen.

If we had bowl wins or a MAC championship I'd be worried, but can't imagine there being much support to hire a coach with a 30-51 record. Leipold, Lewis, or Neu probably have better resumes at this point.

Agree 100 percent! CC zero bowl wins, and zero MAC championships! Leipold and Neu have done both!
