Big loss.

Yeah I like Patton. I think CC should go with a young FCS offensive line coach. I wish TJ Lang had some coaching experience.

TJ Lang has stated multiple times on 97.1 the ticket he does not want to coach or his wife does not want him to coach.

I'd like someone with some really solid recruiting experience - either in the plains or in metro detroit or chicago

The O-Line was generally acknowledged as a bright spot for the Eagles in their 2020 season. That goes directly to Patton's level of coaching. He set high expectations for the guys, and pushed them to achieve. And the players responded. It hurts to lose him.

He also played the role of Run Game Coordinator this past season under the structure where the Eagles had no OC. And I think we can also generally agree that the run game was more effective this past season. What will it mean to this team to lose Patton in that role?

Does Creighton now work to find a guy he can trust to fill both roles, or does he look for a new O-Line Coach and an Offensive Coordinator? This is the time of the year when there are a lot of coaches out of a job or looking to make a move. Depending on how CC decides to play this, it has the potential to mean a whole lot more to this team than just who's going to maintain the growth and development of the O-Line.

Well thought out and stated.

Too often we take simplistic approaches to hiring coaches: Can he recruit? Can he?

This is a critical hire for many reasons.

Two FCS coaches I would look at are Vince Munch at Davidson or John Peterson at Youngtown St. Peterson has an impressive resume.

As has been mentioned here before, it says something about the quality of your program when other schools pursue your coaches. And of course, Notre Dame is a damn good program. When a school like that comes knocking, it's hard to resist.

I know Alex liked him and his lifting programs. Congrats Coach Hale!

Probably should ask Ron McKeefery for some recommendations. I do believe Ron trained Fred and another coach.

Offense Analyst coach Jeff Duvendeck left to be the OL coach at St. Thomas of Mn, which now a DI program.

Hopefully we have a new O line and strength coach before Spring practice starts in March.

Cincinnati fan who comes in peace. FB Scoop is reporting EMU WR Coach Darren Paige is joining the Cincinnati staff. Thoughts about Paige?

UC has a pretty good WR coach. This position had been opened up for a few weeks after Dan Enos left and several guys interviewed. Paige must have really impressed Luke Fickell.
