Statement by former Secretaries of Defense
Ashton Carter, Dick Cheney, William Cohen, Mark Esper, Robert Gates, Chuck Hagel, James Mattis, Leon Panetta, William Perry and Donald Rumsfeld are the 10 living former U.S. secretaries of defense. This is the letter they collectively wrote to the Washington Post today.

As former secretaries of defense, we hold a common view of the solemn obligations of the U.S. armed forces and the Defense Department. Each of us swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. We did not swear it to an individual or a party.

American elections and the peaceful transfers of power that result are hallmarks of our democracy. With one singular and tragic exception that cost the lives of more Americans than all of our other wars combined, the United States has had an unbroken record of such transitions since 1789, including in times of partisan strife, war, epidemics and economic depression. This year should be no exception.

Our elections have occurred. Recounts and audits have been conducted. Appropriate challenges have been addressed by the courts. Governors have certified the results. And the electoral college has voted. The time for questioning the results has passed; the time for the formal counting of the electoral college votes, as prescribed in the Constitution and statute, has arrived.

As senior Defense Department leaders have noted, “there’s no role for the U.S. military in determining the outcome of a U.S. election.” Efforts to involve the U.S. armed forces in resolving election disputes would take us into dangerous, unlawful and unconstitutional territory. Civilian and military officials who direct or carry out such measures would be accountable, including potentially facing criminal penalties, for the grave consequences of their actions on our republic.

Transitions, which all of us have experienced, are a crucial part of the successful transfer of power. They often occur at times of international uncertainty about U.S. national security policy and posture. They can be a moment when the nation is vulnerable to actions by adversaries seeking to take advantage of the situation.

Given these factors, particularly at a time when U.S. forces are engaged in active operations around the world, it is all the more imperative that the transition at the Defense Department be carried out fully, cooperatively and transparently. Acting defense secretary Christopher C. Miller and his subordinates — political appointees, officers and civil servants — are each bound by oath, law and precedent to facilitate the entry into office of the incoming administration, and to do so wholeheartedly. They must also refrain from any political actions that undermine the results of the election or hinder the success of the new team.

We call upon them, in the strongest terms, to do as so many generations of Americans have done before them. This final action is in keeping with the highest traditions and professionalism of the U.S. armed forces, and the history of democratic transition in our great country.

They are all a bunch of flipping idiots. The only reason for that statement is to inflame things with the imaginary conspiracy theories of the mentally ill TDS Democrats.

I suspect you are finally starting to come down with TDS from your recent posts. You should stay away from MSM and social media until January 21.

If they understood the constitution then they would understand that they have no say in the matter.

Sounds like more of them are getting nervous.

Probably why Kamala hasnt given up her seat yet.

It’s like they are all fabulously wealthy somehow. That’s what it’s like....

How are they all fabulously wealthy I wonder? Public service seems to pay quite well.

Deep state gonna deep state.

Not 1 investigative police authority has investigated anything relative to mass voter fraud. Not 1. Holy chit I am a counter culture nut. The culture is globalism. Hey Ft. Bend Owl the movie was right, Rudy never belonged at Notre Dame.

Trump exposed the entire mechanisms of the deep state. I guess the only question remaining is should all non connected white able bodied straight males be genocided, bonus points if you are Christian.

There has been no transparency regarding any of the audits or "investigations" into any of the oddities and statistical anomalies.

Its all happened behind closed doors and ummm covered up windows.

Thats all I want is transparency into any and all voting processes that produced the outcome and I dont think that has happened.

RE: Statement by former Secretaries of Defense
6 of the 10 are listed by Wikipedia as Republicans (Esper, Hagel, Gates, Rumsfield, Cohen and Cheney), two are Independent (Mattis and Perry), and two are Democrats (Panetta and Carter). Two were appointed by Trump (Mattis and Esper), four by Obama (Carter, Panetta, Gates and Hagel), two by Clinton (Perry and Cohen), and three by Bush (Cheney by Bush Sr. and Gates and Rumsfield by Dubya).

You can figure out whose payrolls they're on now. Cheney supposedly organized the letter (along with Republican Eric Edelman who served in DC mostly under Dubya Bush - and who supported Biden over Trump, but he has been very critical of Hillary Clinton in the past).

And for whomever asked for a link, it's all over the damn place. But the letter originated in the Washington Post. Here's an article with more information. The opinion piece itself is linked in this link, but it seems to be behind a firewall for me.

All monies eventually originate from the CCP.

Notice how they havent put out a statement on slave labor and enslaving muslims in china. Nor did they put out a group statement on how the CCP attacked the world with the China Flu.

A better question is how many of them have stuck their junk into Fang or some other chinese spy like spontaneous-farting Swalwart.
