You don't remember JD Harris?

He had a tackle against Central Michigan. He had another tackle against Ball State.

I love it when these kids transfer and post a "committed" banner. Like they are some highly louted HS senior on ESPN signing day. Maybe they should take a video of themselves putting on a hat, praising the school each time they transfer.

Almost as much fun as parents posting pics of their kids signing "letters of intent" for DIII schools.

Dammit!! There goes our defense now. And, as the defense goes, there goes our team. 2021 now looks bleak. Anyone want to guess how many losses we will have because Harris jumped ship? This is almost as bad as when Barksdale transferred. Here come more sleepless nights.

It's just more of the mass exodus from last offseason and more proof that players don't like playing for Hammock.

Or...you need to compare my first comment in this thread to my second comment and then form a judgement.

Btw, what is that hashtag?

#T2KEFLIGHT

Is that supposed to be Take Flight? What does that mean? And why is there a "2" in there? Chattanooga is the Mocs (short for moccasins). I have no idea what is supposed to be flying other than he might be taking a flight down there, but that seems counter-productive since, I'd assume, he is moving there and would have to bring more than a carry-on and two 40 lb suitcases.

Guessing...cause **** knows with kids today...but the 2 has to make it “take 2...”. 2nd school.

Or it was a reference to his 2 tackles made this season.

Moccasins...maybe he was thinking the fashionable and comfortable footwear? Maybe comparing them to Air Jordans?

I think you're right.

He's bringing his 2 tackles to Chattanooga.

Speaking of mass exodus...Temple is literally falling apart under Hot Rod. Why isn't Rod grabbing some of his ex-recruits from NIU I wonder...I mean...Other than the fact Rod can't recruit and a lot of "his guys" are FCS level cats.

So a new coach comes in and a lot of people leave. Seems like Hammock and Carey both had that issue - and of course it's worse now with transferring being easier now. That's going to make it even harder for many teams (MAC and other non-football-powers) going forward, that lose their coach for whatever reason.

This new transfer portal and the allowance of one transfer without sitting out a season is going to make college football look a lot like college basketball with the constant transfers of players. It is also going to turn the G5 into the develop league for the P5s. Once a player has developed and turned into a force at the G5 level the P5s are going to bring him into their program for the last year or two.

I thought about that - but I kind of disagree. The benefit is going to be more for the lower level schools than the P5.

They recruit 4 and 5 stars if they have a position they need to fill. We however do not. That means a transfer from the bench on Michigan can come to NIU and start without losing that year. A transfer from NIU to Iowa isn’t guaranteed a spot. (Heflin & Lorebeck)

I personally like the rule. The bench of the P5 schools are going to get thinner.

I think most of those 4 and 5 star P5 bench players are going to go to other P5 schools (like Justin Fields, Cam Newton, JT Daniels, and many other P5 players have done). If NIU starts getting more than one or two P5 transfers each recruiting class I'll be surprised. So far we have gotten 1 P5 and 1 FCS player for our 2021 class.
