Deserved, he is such a special player. I'm glad he has enjoyed his experience at the school and made the most of his opportunity, small town kid makes good is about as Oklahoma as it gets.

It started last year but I expect we will see a nice little streak of NFL drafted kids and players who end up playing regularly for a while. Zaven has the potential to have a very good NFL career, maybe one of the better ones in Tulsa history.

He was a diamond in the rough. Wish we could find some more to go along with Player. Talking to him was a pleasure. I hope he becomes an even better doctor. I missed seeing the team on autograph day.

Zaven Collins has now won the Lombardi Award based on "Performance and Leadership honed by Character and Reseliency"

He beat out finalists:
DE Tarron Jackson of Coastal Carolina
QB Trevor Lawrence of Clemson (proj. #1 draft pick)
WR Davonta Smith of Alabama (Heisman winner)

Collins is the 2nd ever G5 player to win the award.
