Yay. Great summer camp guys! Now on to Spring football.

That's the way to look at this season. If NIU was going to go win less, this is the year. A lot of teams opting out of bowls, too. This will always be the season with the asterisk by it.

Any chance we’ll go to a bowl this year? I’m just dying to see another blowout. Maybe we could play St. Augustine in the Illinois Bowl? Nah, we’d lose by at least 20.

RE: Week 6: Official Game Thread - NIU at EMU
Wild ending to the WMU-BSU game, after WMU wet the bed going into the 4th quarter 14 points up.
A whole lot of hook and ladder, ending in a TD that was called back because of 4 flags thrown during the circus.
The WMU board is on suicide watch.

Temple isn't going either.

With 7 freshman on the field, no surprise and it will get better quick.

Does the scheme concern you at all?

Or lack of a cohesive plan out there? The line was doing one thing, the secondary another. That’s Busch league.

I don’t blame the kids. The coaches screwed up. I 100% feel like this team would have been better on D if we just played a base press man 2 over. If you want to roll 1 safety up sometimes...fine. These kids could have taken their lumps doing that, and I promise you they would have held at least 1 team under 30.

The corners stink, but let them press and have help. Having them in deep cushion with no help isn’t the answer. Also...the heck were the ends doing today? Yeah...let’s drop oppong in the hook zone...it’s just nonsense out there.

I am not sure the coaches could explain what they were going for there. And I hope hammock evaluates that side of the ball. The DC is bad at gameplans. Maybe bring in someone to help him - or send him to some kind of summer school.

Time to bring back JB whatever 94 to ask why Temple was mentioned. LOL

Good lord, has it been that long? You and I started at NIU at the same time.

BigChilla- you and others can break things down much better than I. I will say the cushion on the corners drives me crazy. The quick outs for 7 yards unless the opponent gets more from a broken tackle is tiresome. The lack of aggressiveness creates a comfortable QB

I must be a 3rd. Freshman year was 1970-71. Been to nearly every home game since 1970. I have been a season ticket holder for 40+ years. Chairbacks since they started offering them. We have seen a lot of Huskies football.

The bright spot for this game, was Devin Gardner's color commentary. I like that guy, he was making it pretty exciting. I have to wonder why he was so high on us? Seems like he was a Huskie fan.
