It was an ACC thing. There were discussions about going to 9 conference games and they wanted to stop their members from playing road games against the G5 to increase TV inventory. However, that isn’t starting in 2024 so VT can hold off for now.

Sometime back, a person who I believe would know told me ODU has a contract for 2 more games with Liberty over the next 8, 10 years. So only 2 more and my understanding is we do not plan to make a contract with them for any more games. Of course there is so much change rapidly taking place with college football things could change tomorrow, next month or ? ? ? But for now only 2 to go and not close together.

Exactly. The series is intact. There is no reason to perpetuate what is considered hearsay at this point.

Games being shifted around for ECU including one of ours. The 2027 game between ODU and ECU has been moved to 2026, completing the 2026 non-con slate for ODU. 2027 now has two openings.

I like it. If Rahne can build up a squad for the next few years, that 2026 schedule looks promising for a good record. NSU, ECU and UConn to go with (maybe?) VT. If we could win 3 in the OOC and 5 in the SB we'd have a nice 8 win season. If I were coach, Id be looking ahead to that year to really make a name for myself and try to get a big raise in 27.

The VT series was saved for the next 3 games with them not coming to an agreement on next year this offseason. VT has no reason to buy us out now that they host the next 2 after 2024.
