RE: Running Back
We are spoiled from having Dorceus, Henderson, Taylor, Pollard and Gibson and we don't have any RBs on the radar that I know of that are that good.
The guys we have now can't take it to the house. I think we have had one or two runs of 40 plus yards this year.

Bingo! I been saying that since Norvell. He is no run threat at all so there is no option.
No kidding. Waste of time and effort. Like fish in December, Defenses aren't biting.

We may be a little spoiled by those backs in the past, but my eyeball test is still telling me the bigger drop off is in the positions between the offensive tackles, than the actual drop off at the back position.
Isn’t much a RB can do when he is constantly either being met in the backfield with an unblocked defender or his own lineman being push back into the space he needs to make cuts.
Now I think maybe our play calling could improve to run more toss sweeps or jet sweeps to try to get them in space more to make plays vs the constant between the tackles calls.

Agreed. I think we miss Woodard and Dill. It looked like to me we were running straight into blitzes a few times.Try pitches, reverses, screens, anything besides straight hand offs.

Weaver runs blind and isn't a blazer...
Clark has good vision but isn't fast either.
The only back I have seen who has high level speed is Timothy Taylor.

This. I would like to see more of Taylor. We need his speed.

I think you are misusing your terms
RPO - Run Pass Option = Hand the ball to the running back or QB pulls and Passes the ball.
Read Option - Hand the ball off or the QB pulls and throws the ball
Iiiiiii seeeee.... So the difference is between passing and throwing the ball. Now I got it...

Weaver slows down when getting to the line, waiting for a hole to open up. Hate to tell ya, Weaver, but this line ain't opening up holes that are not already there, and all you are doing is allowing the weak-side pursuit to get there and tackle you.
You have to hit the line full-steam ahead, MAYBE one cut, and what you get is what you get. This is not high school anymore. These linebackers in this conference are not going to sit there and wait on you.

What ever happened to the those bubble screen passes out to sides and letting out RBs catch it with 3 blockers in front of them....man Henderson and Gainwell would be gone on those plays!

The first defender isn't missing.

RE: Running Back
Watkins is actually getting better about dancing around, but he still hasn't maxed his potential yet.
I like what Asa did this week, but he's evidently not winning the battles in practice.
Nonetheless, based upon gameday observations, I go with:
Martin
Clark
Taylor
Watkins

Our little WRs are not blocking as well this year
