ECUCONN
That's insulting UConn. Seriously insulting. UConn has a national brand and a basketball team.
Correct. The women's team is highly respected.
The men's program ALSO has also won multiple national championships. UConn currently has the #13 ranked 2021 class.

No one has run the ball on us like Keaton Mitchell did last night.
We went 4 deep on D in much of the second half. Was a scrimmage after halftime.
Can't argue that but he had some good gains against the ones. Not having Ponder in there hurt.
Yea, Ponder going down hurt. He definitely ran the ball on us better than anyone has all season, whether it be the 1’s, 2’s, or whomever and it’s not really close.
Hopefully Ponder is good to go for the UCF game, but I’m not expecting him to be.

The curse of Ruffin continues...
Pure comedy at this point. What a moron! ECU is still paying this Frankenstein believe it or not, because the know it all 'big donors' promised him a raise and extension if he pulled the trigger. Well they waited till Coach Mo's 2nd 3-9 season to do that. What audacity! Subsequently, just a 1/2 yr later, public pressure forced his termination but the damage was done. It's almost inconceivable that this could really happen. Fired beloved alum because in his 3 year assessment we were not meeting competitive expectations & he didn't like the trajectory of the program & he didn't even have another candidate in mind. I think the optics of a white guy firing a successful black HC made the job less desirable in general, thus limiting the candidate pool, and Compher was forced to 'reach' for an unqualified coach simply because he was a black man in an ill-fated attempt to reduce public backlash. Don't tell me ECU couldn't compete in the AAC (ECU went 5-3 in its 1st yr & should have won more than that). In those 3 yrs that Compher 'assessed' the program (1 yr in C-USA & 2 yrs in the AAC), Ruff was 23-15 overall and had a 14-10 conference record during that juncture. Even his last year in the AAC he still was competitive vs quality opponents, beat VT, one possession losses @ Florida & @ BYU & lost on a last second FG to Cincy on the last game of the year that would have sent ECU to a bowl. He also lost Lincoln Riley before that season as well as starting QB Kurt Benkert just 2 weeks before the season. Kurt subsequently transferred to UVA and is now in the NFL. Meanwhile, ECU is 14-41 since Ruff's firing.

Better is coming. So many freshman on defensive line and offensive line contributing now and they will hopefully become older, stronger juniors and seniors. Best running backs are two true freshmen and one true sopmore who has been out due to COVID. We just need to get older but we are light years ahead of where we were under Montgomery. I do wish we had a more quick strike offense but we don’t have the talent at certain positions including the OC.
The fumble that was overturned was the correct call and if the fake punt was not called by Fickel then I commend the UC player who called it based on how ECU lined up. If we don’t like it then do something about it.

I don’t understand why people are upset the more I think about it.
ECU overloaded the formation to try and block the punt. That is why the player audibled. Are we expected to just allow free runners at our punter and let them block it simply because we have a lead?
If you don’t want a fake there, just line up normal and return the punt or at least don’t overload one side where we have no way to block that many rushers.

We have to win out, but if we can whether we get in the Playoff or not I think it helps all G5 teams, just like I think UCF going undefeated and beating Auburn helped legitimize UC’s run.

I can't watch the video. Just seeing the picture makes me want to punch his stupid face. Also the ECU board of trustees was chaired by a tarhole lawyer who supported dumb@$$ in not firing Mo after year 2 as well as extending dumb@$$ and turning right around and firing him before his new contract even started! Then they paid him $1.26 million to leave.

Maybe Ruff wasn't so bad. ECU hasn't won more than three, THREE, conference games since 2015. I would argue Mike Houston is already feeling the heat from the elephant in the room. He hasn't separated himself from Scottie Mo - yet - but how long should his leash be? I really do hope ECU can get the program going in the right direction because it's good for them and for the conference. We don't need another UConn type football program.

ECU is 13-11 against UC all-time; hardly anything to gloat about. 8 of those wins were 1994 and earlier. The two schools started playing each other in CUSA in 1997. This head to head lead will be gone within a couple years.
