Read the quote I posted - shouldn't be too hard to figure out why I made that statement.

One of the great advantages of stationary biking compared to cycling is that one is unlikely to fracture one's femur.
*edit* I do recognize the forced attention to non-digital matters that cycling provides as a big plus, mind you.

So it's not so much "supporting segregation" as much as "supporting legislation that limits the upward financial mobility of black people"?
And in practical, meaningful terms, you would differentiate the two exactly how?
Are you trying to argue that segregation is bad but limiting upward mobility is not?

But you also don't get to strut around in bike clothes, which are truly the most fashion-forward off all sport garments.

It's probably semantics... but it takes it to a whole new level to suggest that Democrats "support segregation". I don't think it's worth going back over this dead horse, though.

Blacks are noticeably better off than they were in 1950. But it seems like they don't know it. They think the police are still rubberhosing blacks like it was 1950.
Most of their economic and job gains
came in the last four years...and then they blindly vote to reverse all that. I guess to most of them, better to have a black assistant Secretary of Whatever than a good job.
All of the segregation I see now is self-segregation.

Two things:
1) I did not say that democrats "support segregation." I said that they support denying or limiting upward mobility, and I asked you to distinguish between the two. So far you have not done so.
2) You get to read it again, "Keep 'em dumb, keep 'em poor, keep 'em dependent on handouts, and you can keep 'em voting democrat." While you are distinguishing things, take a shot at distinguishing democrat policies from that statement. If poor black people started moving up, they might start voting republican, and obviously we can't have that.

I'm actually not that interested in spending a lot of time breaking down your statement as I don't understand why you think black people are so dumb as to keep voting against their own interests for decades. We've gone over this before. Why should we revisit this?

Where did I say they were dumb? Although, if you look at the quality of inner-city education, there is obviously an effort to perpetuate dumbness.
They are getting bribed with handouts. If I can make more money off handouts, while doing nothing, than I can by getting a job and having to work, then it's not dumb--or lazy--to take the handouts. It's actually the intelligent choice, at least short term.
In order to break the cycle, republicans have to come up with a better alternative than handouts. So far they haven't. I have, but they haven't.

Not to mention consistently implying that they are too dumb to figure out that they are continuing to vote against their own long-term self-interests by voting for Democrats (but HE has figured it out).

Lots of people vote against their own long term self-interest. Every business owner who voted for Biden did so. I have voted for things against my self interest because I thought them good for the community. I am not dumb, because I voted against my own self-interest. I would be dumb if I did it blindly, but I don't.
In the particular case of blacks, I think it is more of a habit, or a mind set. Many of them cannot conceive of doing anything but a straight ticket Democrat vote, and do not weigh the pluses of voting any other way, nor do they consider the impacts of certain policies on their community. I bet 80% of blacks already know who they are voting for in 2036. Whoever the Democrats run, regardless of policies or issues. Regardless of results. Regardless of ability. Just regardless.

As near as I can tell, the only time most of them decide who to vote for is in the democratic primary. You tell me - do you think they honestly weigh the plusses and minuses of the different candidates including the conservatives and Libertarians with an open mind and then somehow come down 88% or so on one side? Is there any other ethnic community that is so monolithic?
Ask your friends how much consideration they gave Trump in either election, or Romney, or Bush, or anybody but the Democrat in any election, and why, in the end, they decided to vote for their opponent, the Democrat. I would be interested to hear the answers.
The other thing I would be interested in hearing is why, after 70 years of voting Democratic, with multiple Democratic Administrations, they still think this is a racist, oppressive country, and why they think voting democratic yet again will change that. Remember the definition of insanity?

That is saying not that they are dumb, but that it is the strategy of the democrats to try to keep them too dumb to figure out that the welfare plantation is screwing them. More and more of them are starting to figure out that they are being screwed. If republicans were smart, they would jump all over that. Then again, expecting republicans to be smart is overly optimistic. The democrats offer a handout instead of a hand up.

"Where did I say they were dumb?" says the person who regularly writes:
Quote:"Keep 'em poor, keep 'em dumb, keep 'em dependent on handouts, and you'll keep 'em voting democrat," may be good for winning elections, but it's not good for fighting poverty.

Trump was beginning to make some inroads in the black community with his economic policies. Another reason they had to unseat him at all costs.
For a long time now, the slogan has been that the way out of poverty is education. I bought that too, for a while, but now it is apparent the way out is employment. If education prepares you for employment that you otherwise could not have applied for, fine, that is what it is for, but just a piece of paper on a wall does nothing.

That saying still holds true. Estimated lifetime earnings by education are significantly different - estimated to be approximately $900k between a high school diploma and a bachelor's degree.

That isn't say that it is a guarantee, but that is what the stats.
