All you say?

I guess no one is allowed to sit down. Chairs can be weapons?
I guess no one is allowed a pencil. It can be sharpened?
I guess they are using paper ballots because the voting machines can be picked up and used as a bludgeon?

Seems silly!

To heck with paper ballots, I might get a paper cut. It could be a weapon too.

Speaking of paper ballots, we had both paper and machine. It's pretty hard to cheat in Texas even in Demoncraptic majority cities like El Paso.

Pretty much every polling place in my area is in a church or school where weapons are already banned. This at least extends that to the 100 foot rule. Although I'm guessing you can still intimidate folks...not to mention most bullets can easily travel 100 feet. 03-wink

Not in my church. I know for a fact that there are packing parishioners at any given service. I’ll soon be one. My concealed carry permit is in process. Our Pastor has his FFL.

Conceal it. Less of a target.

Yup. Common sense says Mr Open Carry Guy would be the first to take incoming.

FYI a judge blocked the ban, ruling the AG failed to go thru a formal rule-making process required under state law & voter intimidation is already illegal.

State law already bans open carry at certain places

"This case is not about the fragile state of mind of 21 voters & what the AG envisions is the appropriate level of wokeness by voters," the open carry attorney says. "It's the question of raw abuse & assumption of power not authorized by law."

AG expected to appeal

Don’t know what Michigan law is, or what power the Michigan Secretary of State holds. But either way, non-LEO with guns at the polling-place are a bad idea, imho.

It’s a slippery slope changing gun rights by executive fiat. That is the legislative branch’s domain.

Legislature can set some rules regarding carrying at schools, bars, courthouses, places of worship,, etc. That’s been established.

If Michigan wants to change the rules regarding polling places, the elected officials in the state assembly can work on it.

It’s not up to a governor or the Sec of State.

Exactly. I’ve never gotten the appeal of open carry and, frankly, I think some people that open carry just want the attention so they can make indignant Facebook posts.

I told the story awhile back of this moron I saw in WalMart. He had a gun holstered on his belt right above his ass crack. He was bending down doing something with his kid not paying attention to anything else. Anyone could have grabbed it from him in a second and did who knows what.
