Quote: “In response to the allegations put forward in the media, I simply state unequivocally that I have never physically struck a player or colleague,” Marshall wrote. “Allegations claiming otherwise are false.”

This is gonna get good.

Well, he's all in now. Need video, or more witnesses on the record.

Greg Marshall under internal investigation
The only scenario I saw where Marshall could be back next year just went out the window with that statement. I think we are heading for a very messy conclusion to this.

Why couldn't he just pay the players like the other elite coaches????

Yeah, paying players doesn't seem to be as big a crime as punching a player or choking an assistant, lol.

fire Marshall, hire Chris Jans and just move on. plus, he'll cost like half as much so take the rest and dump it into the Asst Coach pool so he can hire a name 'recruiter'

jans will have jobs lined up, tons of dominos could fall this year (texas etc.).. jans will be seen as a top option for a lot of jobs.. you are making it seem very easy that Wichita will get one of the best coaching options for almost all the jobs that will come open, and also for half he price

yup, Arizona/LSU got caught red handed and nothing will come of it. That said, hitting players took down Bobby Knight/Woody Hayes and they had like 8-9 combined National Titles...Marshall may end up going down.

Jans speaks VERY highly of his time at WSU...I got the feeling he'd love to take over that program

Jans’ wife stayed in Wichita when he took the bowling green job. They love the city, and he is considered the heir apparent.

Just hire the dude and get it over with. Marshall's a good coach, but you don't need the stain on the program. Even if he didn't do any of these things, perception is reality. Especially in this day and age. He's not going to be able to recover from this. Recruiting will completely dry, up and they'll have a revolving door with transfers.

Nip it in the bud. He'll have to take a couple years off and then he'll land at a place like LaSalle or something. He'll be fine. You'll be better at this point if he's gone. It's the world we live in today.

The BOLDED portion is exactly why due process must take place, enough is enough, it's time to put an end to destroying peoples lives just because someone has a complaint or dislikes an individual and makes false accusations against them.

Laws are in place for a reason, don't be so eager to let politicians and Pundits take away your Civil and Constitutional rights, once they are gone we may never get them back.

Jans was caught on video grabbing women in a bar. From a pr standpoint, I can't see WSU hiring Jans, who was fired from BG for bad behavior, if WSU is forced to fire Marshall because of bad behavior. The school would get ripped in the national press if they decide to hire Jans. As for Marshall, I heard rumors for a while it was his reputation that has kept him at WSU, not his desire to stay in Wichita.

I posted this back in 2017:

From what I was told by someone associated with a coaching search a few years ago, Marshall has wanted a number of jobs over the years and despite his efforts, he hasn't been seriously considered, much less offered any of the them. Fans look at him one way, but it is my understanding that ADs and Presidents have concerns. It is those concerns that have kept him in Wichita. Unfortunately, I have no idea what those concerns are.

Interesting. Do you know if Memphis made him an offer? What other schools were looking at him? Just curious.

I heard Memphis set up an interview with Marshall in Wichita, then when our AD and others arrived, he refused to see us. So no offer ever made.

To be honest, I don't remember. I remembered being told about Marshall when the new story broke, but I didn't remember what the details were. So, I searched this forum and found the post I copied. I have a few ideas about what schools, but I can't say for sure. I just don't remember.

Yup. there was talk between the two parties but Marshall's interest was never that serious. It was probably his agent's interest more than his.
