Quote:The National Hockey League (NHL), in partnership with Discover, Honda, MassMutual and Scotiabank today announced the official division names for the 2020-21 season: Scotia NHL North Division, Honda NHL West Division, Discover NHL Central Division and the MassMutual NHL East Division.
Embarrassing.
I understand the sentiment but with the killing of fans at games there has to be a revenue stream play to afford to put product on the ice. It has better only last this season though....
I'm still not a fan of the ads on helmets just like I was against the badges on NBA jerseys.... I don't want this to be European/Foreign soccer... then again, nearly every pro arena/stadium now is a corporate sponsorship target.

NHL Lake Tahoe event puts new twist on outdoor game
Avalanche-Golden Knights,
Bruins-Flyers
to celebrate hockey's roots in 'majestic' setting
Quote:The Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights will play in the Bridgestone NHL Outdoors Saturday on Feb. 20 (3 p.m. ET; NBC, SN1, TVAS). The Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers will play in the Honda NHL Outdoors Sunday on Feb. 21 (3 p.m. ET; NBC, SN1, TVAS).
The rink will be on the 18th fairway of the golf course at Edgewood Tahoe Resort near the California-Nevada border in Stateline, Nevada, the site of the American Century Championship since 1990 and the host of the 1985 U.S. Senior Open and 1980 U.S. Amateur Public Links.
"We always talk about pond hockey," NHL chief content officer Steve Mayer said. "It's always been the basis of why we play our outdoor games, and [this idea] always has been something on the shelf."

Will be interesting to see what NBCSN going away does for the NHL whose TV deal with NBC expires after this season.

There will be a lot of trickle down effect I am sure.... and then you get into FOX/FOXS1&2, FOXSports Regional Networks, CBS/CBSSN, and ABC/ESPN....
Then again, if TNT/TBS has done NBA for as long as it has then.... would USA really be that off of a bet?
