Yep. BYU has overwhelming physical size and discipline. They are definitely Top 20. They are at an entirely different level than CUSA and Sunbelt.

This is awesome. LA Tech just got destroyed by BYU and they are still acting like they had a big win or sth
The only thing I have not heard yet is that that they would have won if not for the officiating! Classless clown fan base.
Well, that Big 12 crew really sucked. No, they did! Wouldn't have changed the W-L outcome, but would have made the game slightly less frustrating. Especially that line judge who would routinely mark the ball a couple of yards short for us.
No, seriously, the Big 12 embarrassed itself last night with that crew. Their supervisor of officials needs to have sit down with those clowns.
No, seriously, the BIG12 embarrassed itself by going 0-3 vs. the SBC!

And that's all I was trying to say on this thread, before a few specific Tech fans decided they were somehow a class above everyone else.

Seriously though, hasn't the level of officiating, in ALL games so far, been really really bad?

I agree it's time for CBT to go back to the Sunbelt board

Yep - I knew it would be a long night for us but at least we were able to stop BYU some in the 1st half and moved the ball much better than Navy and Troy against their D. They were just clearly the better team
The UTEP game should be interesting next weekend

They are legit good, and Navy, Troy and us were nothing but cannon fodder. Yes, it is true the average age of BYU's players is several years older than their opponents, but they are also really, really good.
Yep, with last year's defense, the one that shut out Miami, the game would have been very competitive last night. BYU probably would have toughed out a win, but it would have been a game. Well...such is the nature of CFB. Seniors move on...in our case, several to the NFL...and programs have to replace them. In 2020 we are who we are....not very good.
At least we wore our CUSA patch proudly and got smoked on national TV when playing a real opponent.
Dude, just stop. More clear-eyed, unbiased thinking like that will get you kicked out of Ruston! Ha I kid, but your post was spot on. Kudos to you.

La Tech will be a heavy favorite vs UTEP. UTEP's 2nd trip to Louisiana in two weeks but an extra week to prepare.
Pretty sure UTEP is not ready to contend for the west title but they do look like an improved team. Hopefully the Miners can make a decent showing and then move on to win a few the rest of the season.
I see LT and UAB as the best in the west.

I think UTEP is going to give us a heck of a game. Glad it's in Ruston.

I don’t know about that. They have some impressive polynesian/somoa/tongan players but Tech would have definitely competed with them last year.
JMar would have made some of those easy downfield passes instead of floating for an INT. Plus our defense would have been much better

I Definitely think so, any FBS team is not going to be easy out for Tech this year. Losing 11 out of 12 starters on defense and 5th year senior/ CUSA OPOY is going to have growing pains.
With much improved UTEP, crushing a lowly Sunbelt; I expect a very close game.

Sounds about right. Tech will be looking to make a much better showing at home on ESPN2 this week. We also get a couple of big run stuffers back this week on defense.

Oh, so we started 12 on defense last year, that explains why they were so good!

Agree. J'Mar was a really good QB for Tech and won plenty of games for us during his career. Just wished he would've not got suspended against UAB and Marshall last year. Probably would've won CUSA if not for that.

This game was a tough one to swallow. All you can do is get up, dust yourself off and get ready for the next one.
