Agreed. I don’t know where this guys saltiness is coming from.

The presumption that if you bring the same game next week = loss particularly for App brings out the saltiness as you put it. Run that by an App fan. Beating GS NEVER equals certain loss against App...03-banghead

You win at home with a 53 yard kick with 2 seconds on the clock after GS takes over the game. Not a single Southern fan hints at an excuse for the loss. Ha. How many points did ULL have erased from the board? Why’d your big fellas get so chippy in the game? We just lil ole GS nothing to be concerned about. Deep is how far your kicker reached to pull that kick out is hat.

Win the TOP to make Cajun's defense tired and slow. They looked a step slower reacting to plays in 4th quarter.
Crowd the LoS to stop big bruising rushing attacks of UL.
Make Levi beat you with his throws. He doesnt seem to want to run that often so treat him like a pocket QB.

I agree with Lewis but 5 starters were out on defense

maybe your back ups are better if Cajuns only gave up 18 points without those 5 starters on defense (compared to 31 last week) 03-drunk

I think I know what you mean though. Not sure if you had guys missing in DL but the middle of your DL seem more "bendy" than last week. Or GS's interior OL is beasty. One of those.

Cajuns were missing starting NT Tayland Humphrey. It’s assumed to be Covid related. Also were missing Sonny Hazard who was a rotational guy on the DL. Hazard doesn’t appear to be due to Covid because he was on the sideline Saturday.

I felt like the first half was a slug fest between two pretty equal teams - the possessions almost mirrored each other - long drive with failed 4th down conversion, long TD drive, Interceptions. The second half was a lot of the same, but the Cajuns made a few more plays than us. We can kick ourselves about missed FG, the fumble, etc, but hats off to the Cajuns for not giving up after that TD and 2 pt conv.

I will say we did much better than I expected going on the road and playing against a top Sun Belt team. But, I still see so many things with our team that just don't look right and I'm hopeful we can get some of that stuff cleaned up or resolved.

I watched a defense that was made up of mostly 2nd teamers and a WR corps with 1 upperclassman beat GaSo.

Our preseason first team all-SBC safety was out leaving a secondary full of young guys to fend for themselves.

Our preseason first-team all-SBC defensive end missed most of the game and two other top defensive ends we're out as well. You got a really watered down version of our defense.

Welcome to football in the time of covid.

That 4th quarter was one of the most entertaining I've seen this season. Hats off to GS for that last drive and having the guts to go for 2 and succeed. Equally impressed that UL was able to quickly move into position for the game winning FG and hit it from downtown. Both teams showed a lot of guts and heart.

Not exactly. The Cajuns had eight STARTERS out. That includes (arguably) the best running back in the league and one of the best OL. It also included another running back and WR injured in the game.

It also included the top two nose guards, both guys at the same position at OLB (including first team all SBC preseason), a starting corner and a starting safety. All told there were 14 Cajuns on the two deep that were missing in the second half.

Now, for our "fans" who do nothing but bash our quarterback, two points.

1. Every time Georgia Southern scored, the Cajuns scored on the next possession, negating any momentum. And, the Cajuns had to overcome an offensive holding call on the final possession with 40 seconds left.

2. 14-3
Some of you only look for the negatives with Levi. All he does is win.

It's all good. It's rare to see a 50 yard plus field goal. This is one of the few losses that I can honestly say I was smiling at the end. Too good of a game not to.

Had no problem heaping praise your way. Then came the spit balls from your fans making excuses and the disrespect on the field became more relevant.

We ain't standing still fellas. Keep the foot on the gas.

Excuses? We were without over half our defense and one of the best RB’s in the league. The week that you absolutely have to play assignment football is not the week you want to run a bunch of freshman out there on defense. I was at the game, still have no clue about our players “behavior” you keep mentioning. Our coach is very strict about players not talking to the other team.

GS had 8 players out including a few starters so let's not make it all about who didn't play. Let's just agree to be happy the game was played.

For me this game was the first time in a long time I was happy for the guy on the opposing team that beat us. I wanted the Eagles to win and yes I think we made a couple of errors that may have cost us the game but wow what a game it was. On to the next...

I watched your fans and players celebrate a victory about 40 seconds too early, it was wonderful.

This^

The media exposure was outstanding! The over and over replays on ESPN of GS going ahead and the dropped ball taking away the TD and the great catch in the endzone. Capped by the epic kick and interview with kicker. Very Nice coverage!

Time to put this game to bed. Both teams showed a lot of determination and the Cajuns made the big kick at the end. Louisiana gets a little extra rest b4 the next game and we head back to Louisiana to play ULM Sat night. It is not beyond the realm of possibility for a GS/Louisiana rematch in Dec

I hope there is a rematch. It means we finally beat App (although we will have played 7 of 9 in Boone) and nothing is sweeter that beating the boys from the ditch.
