Alonso, Ike didn't miss Scott's point at all, He recognizes and no Scott would not be involved, I'm sure this is extremely painful for him. However, hopefully there is another individual who would enjoy taking care of TOM IV
Ike has no information from the street concerning TOM IV, but IKE's street sources r grieving the loss of our TOM

TOM III's cremated remains will probably go to Normal Street with TOM II's.

RE: Tom III passes away
I understand the issues, but the decision there will be NO TOM IV should not rest on whether TOM IV will be handled the same way as previous mascots.

It is still quite possible to have a TOM IV that does not ride to the games. I think would be in the interest of the university and the zoo to work out something where a tiger there becomes our mascot. With internet cams the new Tom IV could be on the jumbo tron. With a TOM IV webcam, TOM IV could be the most visible mascot we have ever had.

It is not time to give up having a live tiger mascot. It is time to rethink how it is done.

I think that’s a great idea and I was poking around the zoo website earlier today. If money could somehow be found to help sponsor the habitat or whatever, it seems it could be worth a look. If you want to see TOM IV up close(ish), you know where he is. Same as with LSU. Mike the Tiger’s habitat is on the campus and that’s the only way you’re going to see him. If only we had a veterinary school to partner up with the zoo.

Why can't we be the people who protect 1 Tiger.

Yep ............. exactly

Memphis State University's new, and yet unnamed mascot a 7 1-2 pound Bengal tiger (later named TOM), takes a bottle break during his introduction to students, Memphis TN - Circa 1972

Thanks Cletus for that wonderful picture. I was there when they named him. RIP Tom III. You were a great Tiger.

We don't have a vet school, but we DO have a zoo. This can be a win-win. We sponsor the habitat and the web cam. Put a TV in there that broadcasts Tiger football and other sporting events so Tom can watch them. Play the fight song there. Have a daily youtube or something... Good Morning Memphis from Tom. There are a million possibilities including perhaps giving him a celebrity "voice".

They have to have Tom IV. They have to. We need to start a petition. These "you know who's" aren't going to strip us from everything that make us happy. Our Toms have had it great.

Looks like there will be a TOM IV after all, but he'll be housed at the Memphis Zoo.

Interesting. I think it's pretty clear now that Scott Forman didn't want to continue in the role of caretaker for another tiger, and I don't blame him a bit.

The Zoo is a good happy medium if they're going to do it. Visitors to the Zoo from out of town will see the UofM tie-in when they visit, and Memphians can go see the tiger if they want.

Can we get a Memphis Zoo stadium? That's practically on campus.

Great idea! I would love to have the next Tom at the zoo.

Make it so.
