Well written and thought provoking response. I see exactly what you are saying redtom.

Sounds like a frustrated person that was involved with this knowing that no matter what she and the task force did she was going to be linked to the deaths of people through her involvement. Im sure its hard to swallow that you tried hard and could not be superwoman and save the world.. but.. throwing others under the bus to make yourself feel better is deplorable. We all have seen this type of crap in our workplaces. People love to try and distance themselves from workplace issues that involve a problem. No one wants to be blamed for failure. Its always someone else's fault.

Repeatedly both fauci and Birx have stated that the Trump followed the task force recommendations all the way down the line on this. Im sorry to break it to her and everyone else. People were going to die and there was no way to stop it. The initial estimates on numbers of deaths and the "actual" deaths pretty much validate that the task force did about all it could do to mitigate this. The fact is that outside of New York and its incompetent leadership...the country did a pretty damn good job mitigating this thing. Lets not forget that from the onset the entire purpose of mitigation was to SLOW the spread and SLOW deaths. We did that. Deaths were not going to be stopped.

My question. Outside of TOTALLY shutting down the country and destroying it in the process(and NO ONE was going to do that)...Just what in the hell would YOU do differently that would have made a giant difference in the death toll? I honestly don't believe that anyone can answer that question with any level of confidence. I commend this lady and the team for doing a good job. Its a shame that she chose to come out and make this a political issue and tarnish her work and the work of her team. Shame on her.

I had to vote for myself in 2016 when faced with the horrible choices on my ballot. My vote this year for Trump is an indication of just how much worse the Democrats have become.

I think there could have been more consistent messaging, but that is not something President Trump is capable of doing. He's impulsive. But overall, he did the right things at the right time. He shut down flights from China despite being called a racist. He shut down travel from Europe before the Democrats wanted to do it. He opposed Georgia opening up as soon as it did. He didn't criticize states that never shut down as 7 of the 8 are among the bottom 15 in deaths per million and the other one is average. He allowed for a flexible response. About the only thing he could have done significantly better was lock up DeBlasio and Cuomo and declare martial law in New York.
