Whatever happened to...Marquis Grissom?

If You Send In Your Resume And Your Name’s Jamal, You Might Not Get Called Back
I saw a study once that concluded that it wasn't the messed up spelling or non normal name that resulted in poverty, but it was being raised by some dumb*** who would give their child one of those names.

Those two look like those guys who promised to bring hope and change to all humanity, but instead got in there and for eight years did everything they could to divide the country right down the middle instead of helping things. By the way they're complaining, they must be people who've never had a chance to do anything their whole lives.
The resemblance is uncanny, though.

My son named his son Maximus Kane or Caine I don't know which. Anyway, when I asked him if he thought it was a good idea he got mad and told me that if I wanted to bring up the boy I could name him anything I liked. That settled that question he got named Maximus which isn't bad because at least he can be called Max.
My brother the Leftist named one of his daughters Malintzin (Aztec) and the other Nila (Thai) a pooying he shacked up with in Thailand.

Don't hurt your kids needlessly with silly names.
And yes, the same goes for some white millenials who are going out of the way to give a name because they think it sounds cool or is unique or whatever. They're no better.
Yeah some of these names I’ve seen for these white suburban kids are awful. That being said, the post millennials/young Gen X’ers have gone back to some traditional names. Just yesterday my wife and I were laughing because my 9 year old was playing with his friends named Ralph, Archie, Charlie and Henry. It is right out of the 50s which isn’t a bad thing.
As someone with an easy to misspell last name, its idiotic some of the names they give their kids these days. Nobody can spell it and most mispronounce it. Might as well just name the boy Sue. And a lot name the girls Alex or Sam or Jordan.

F obama and his lame, sissified, incompetent self. The great divider and worst president ever.
Trump is president because obama sucked so bad, people were tired of it.

I recall reading a report where traditional black names were discriminated not only by whites, but also by blacks.
I'll try to find it later to provide a link.
I've seen the same thing. The reality is that Blacks are disproportionately in personnel jobs where they are the gatekeepers for all but the top jobs.

Sure its true. Black HR personnel are out to hire the best candidates and make themselves look good. Call it discrimination or call it self preservation...its wrong..but it happens all the time. Blacks for sure discriminate among themselves...sometimes for simply having darker skin. Ive heard the plenty of comments like following workplace. "Brother is darker than the inside of his own pocket."..or.."He's straight from Africa." Ironically the very same type comment you would hear from a white racist.

And it's not even close.
I dunno, Jimmy Carter sucked pretty hard... and Bill Clinton GOT sucked pretty hard so....
None of them are top-4.
Harding was so clueless that he wasn't even in charge, and everyone knew it. It was like putting Forrest Gump in office. Members of his administration stole millions from the Federal treasury.
FDR. Power-hungry bastard who tried to pack the Supreme Court & whose economic policy dragged the Depression on for another half-decade. He is responsible for Stalin take over Eastern Europe because even though FDR knew he was dying, he didn't tell his VP anything that wasn't already in the newspapers. So it took Truman 2 critical months to figure out that Stalin was a lying SOB. Even Churchill, who was an FDR confidant, was flabbergasted at how little FDR let Truman know. FDR made Trump look humble.
Buchanan literally let a civil war start in Kansas on his watch, then tried to play Wag-the-Dog with Mormons in the Utah territory. Then when he became a lame duck, he sat on his ass for 5 months until Lincoln was sworn in & allowed Confederates take over half the Army's weapons & forts.
Grant was also pretty bad. He continually was fooled by people, appointing reformers to clean out corruption who would end up stealing money themselves. He let his economic policy be run by stock-jobbers who would cause panics on Wall Street for their own benefit, which arguably caused the Long Depression. He signed the Salary Grab act, which doubled his own salary and that of Congress. But Grant at least had his positive points, so I'd put him ahead of those other 3.

My high school football coach was also a religion and P.E. teacher, and he told our class something like this:
"If you're a white man, you're going miss out on a job you want some day due to discrimination in hiring. If you're anything else, you're going to lose a promotion or a raise some day due to discrimination in the workplace. There's nothing you can do about it. The sooner you make your peace with that, the sooner you'll be able to move on and find the next opportunity."

Injustices like that occur and many times there is nothing you can do about it. Its part of the school of hard knocks. When discrimination is blatant and provable..then its fine to seek remedy. When its not? All you can do is just suck it up and move on. There is good chance that they did you a favor. You probably would hate working for them anyway. Twice in my career I was passed over for a job in favor of a far less qualified candidate. I just looked at it as they did me a favor.

True Story...
A friend of mine worked for Humana selling insurance a few years. She had a client buy a policy for her twin boys....Lemon and Orange. (Pronounced Le-Mon and Or -Ange). My friend asked this woman where she got such unusual names and she said she was in the grocery store shopping and saw them on Jello boxes.

Not a true story.
If you're gonna tell this story, tell it right. The twins are Lemonjello and Orangejello and, judging by the amount of people who have indirectly crossed twins with these names, they are two of the most popular names in America.

Yeah that one is a classic. The funny thing is the people that tell the stories believe it. My recently retired boss used to tell the story about a set of twins born in one of our hospitals (I work in health care). I never had the heart to call him out because he genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever been fortunate to meet.

Man, I've heard it sooo many places. "My FTO told me that one time he arrested these twins...", "My boss told me about these twins that he hired...", "My teacher said that he had these twins in his class named..."
It's always prefaced with "no lie" or something like that and told like it's brand-spanking new.
