Anyone wanting their money back will be able to get it.
Best thing to do is to say that your refund is solely because of the BLM sticker. Then the deep-pocket booster who said he/she would, will reimburse the school for your refund.
So basically he will refund your money.

If there is no season, I'll likely ask for a refund because one of us was laid off this summer - that $ will potentially be needed for other things other than sitting in the UofM's account waiting for next year.

Although it's what I plan to do if there is no season, letting it roll to next year just delays their pain by 12 months.

I agree with you, both in that I will let the money roll into next season and that this only delays the pain by 12 months. There is going to be pain, but no matter how small the contribution, it will aid in keeping the wagon rolling forward. There is debt service on the new IPF among many other obligations that could damage the program is they are not serviced.
