Per a BU release, Ticketmaster™© should have tix.

That's great news. The more the merrier.

I have to consider Liberty a solid favorite to win the game. The big difference between BU and Liberty and the rest of the league is coaching. They play similar styles and have completely out executed the other teams in the ASUN. The weapon that scares me is McGee for Liberty, its going to be very difficult for BU to contain him. I'm guessing that most of the burden will fall on Dylan Penn. Of Course, Liberty will also have a tough time matching up with Penn.

Let's get that waiting period cut in half:

Alas, even if BU wins on Saturday, it doesn't guarantee an NIT bid in this crazy year.

Frankly, I'm. Not sure this article is correct with regard to the NIT. You read so many different things it's hard to say.

Yeah, I've heard conflicting things, but it would make sense, given the reduced size of the field.

RE: 2020-2021 Season
Liberty looked really good. Starters for Liberty shot 71% for the game from 3 pt range
(their subs were 0-4 causing the team percentage down to 62% or so). We shot 27% from three point range, but then again we aren't a great 3 pt team. Their guards were very quick but you have to question whether its better to double team to prevent the drive to the basket when the opponent has more than one or two good 3 pt shooters.
Sometimes giving up a layup is not as bad as allowing an open 3 pt shot. Obviously you try to stop both. However UT Chattanooga, Lipscomb and now Liberty have feasted off the 3.

Yep, getting killed by the three definitely reminded me of certain earlier losses.

Hats off to LU, although I'd certainly like to see a rematch.

On to the conference tourney...

Can Bellarmine play in the tournament? They can't make the NCAA tournament right? So who gets the autobid if BU wins the ASUN tournament?

Yes, Bellarmine will play in the conference tournament. Should the good guys (i.e., BU) win it, I understand that Liberty would get the automatic bid, as the regular season champ.

BU isn't eligible for the NCAA Tournament (fingers crossed that the waiting period is reduced this off-season), but the Knights can play in the NIT, etc.

RE: 2020-2021 Season
Saw where a WDRB producer tweeted that the BU-LU game broadcast on ESPNU (that's a lot of U's) bagged a "very respectable 1.7 household rating" in the L'ville television market.

Just read this -- JU is out of the conference tourney due to COVID (maybe we knew that, but I'd at least forgotten), so it's almost like LU gets a first-round bye now:

Also, coverage of Bash "working it":

How so? We still play the same number of games as everyone else. The only team that got a “bye” is Kennesaw St. since they no longer have to face Jax in the play in game... unless you are saying the Owls are so bad it’s like having a bye.

Outrebounded 37 - 20. You can't win with that.

Still... you should be pretty content with your first D1 season. It was quite successful and you certainly put the ASUN on notice. Nothing but good things comin’ your way as you grow in D1. 04-cheers

Now just to get UofL on the schedule and have a Battle for Derby City game. And get NKU on the schedule and renew that rivalry.
