He needs to keep his politics out of his work space. Real simple; then he won't piss off one half or the other of his potential customers.
i don't dislike Jeff the sports writer (he's actually quite good), but i prefer my sports to not be mixed with politics, and that's why i quit listening to 92.9.
not that he cares, nor the parent company cares, nor did i make any difference to their ratings.
but its my choice to make.
I agree, he is a helluva sports writer (writer in general) and can bring tears to your eyes with his sentimental articles regarding his parents, sports stories, etc.
He doesn't live rent free in my head as was said above, I usually have 92.9 on as background noise in the office, but have turned it off over the past several months. I'll check in from time to time, but the constant beating of the political drum & doom/gloom outlook on everything has worn thin. Plus, all they do is interview one another from every show and pat each other on the back, rather than have a competing opinion and actually have to be open to other ideas.
He & GP are such great hosts when it relates to sports, they're severely misinformed when it comes to life and it makes me cringe thinking someone that has such a huge platform & could impact so many (GP) in a positive way mocks Christians and routinely talks out of both sides of his mouth. He is a lost soul that finds solace in demeaning others while exhausting his right hand by the constant patting of his own back for hours on end.
One day, these folks will realize that sports is an escape from the day to day grind, for the average US citizen, and we look to sports for a refuge from our normal life for entertainment. We do not look at sports for political opinions, on both sides of the aisle, as politics/sports do no co-exist very well, together. For some reason, the brilliant minds controlling leagues/corporations/etc. have not figured that out just yet, but I believe a harsh reality will set in over the next 5-10 years if we keep hearing political hot takes from people that literally are paid to entertain others. I marvel at their athletic ability because I cannot compete at that high of a level, however, I do not marvel at their ability, as multi-millionaires, to shout down at the middle class and preach their political, misinformed, out of touch jargon.
We get enough of that from the mainstream news networks.
