Do me a favor...
Could we please discuss anything other than the negative effects covid/coronavirus has had in terms of athletics, specifically UT?
Literally anything...……….
How about our new FB player from Whitmer? I've not heard about him me not being from Toledo. Anyone or everyone is welcome to chime in.
GO ROCKETS!!!! Can't wait for Football.

Cavon Butler is a dancing bear. Had to pick, I'd want him plugging the middle for the b-ball team.

RE: Do me a favor...
I get it Michigan. I’m trying to focus on recruiting and roster the two things I know best. I follow recruiting very very close. I also follow our roster makeup and transitions closely. I love all things UT.
I do wonder how the the Cavon Butler transfer happened. I believe BG was definitely in the running for Butler. I wonder how the “interview” process went down. In the end I believe he thinks he has a better chance of winning and getting noticed at UT. Toledo has depth at tackle as long as transfers out stay minimal. I don’t know if he can play this year. I doubt it. The big BCS schools abused that loophole. It’s hard to tell what happened at UK. Did he not like UK, get in bad side of Stoops, not perform, ??? I think he can help UT. He’s way more mobile and low to ground than Chambers (bust). He’s actually thicker than Hester. Hester could shed run blocks and get to the ball. That was his strength. His ability to collapse the pocket has kept him from starring in NFL. Butler’s HS videos show good pursuit and block shedding but who knows. I’m glad he’s at UT vs the competition. I hope he does well in all areas of life.

I think Butler didn't want the BG stadium to collapse on him . BTW, BG gets a Central player and the Blade does a front page story. UT gets a Central player and it's two paragraphs on the third page.

It was always UT for Butler...he had no connection to BGSU whatsoever, it was likely homesickness that made him transfer back this way. He was VERY close to his family and struggled with his commitment as he had UT all the way to the end with MSU and UK. He'll be a good player for us, I'm happy to have him, even if it took a year longer to get here than it should've.
By the way, UK's doing a disastrous job at keeping any Ohio recruits...this is just another in a long list of people who got the Vince Marrow snake oil and didn't get his head clear until he'd already wasted a year.

Go Rocketship!
Coach Kool handled DL at Mizzou, UMiami, and Alabama under Pinkel and Saban. That would be enough to make me want to play DL at Toledo.

Butler had offers from Bama & Ohio State coming out of high school. Since he was only at Kentucky for one year, I don't believe it's an issue of underperforming there that provoked this move.

RE: Do me a favor...
Since Butler transferred due to a family issue (his grandfather died) and he wants to be near his widowed grandmother who raised him, he should qualify for a waiver and get immediate eligibility. He should obviously be a redshirt freshman.

Marrow is nothing more than a used car salesman. Promising everything and then handing you a lemon.

RE: Do me a favor...
Makes one wonder if issues at UK will finally get through to HS prospects thinking twice if they are facing a decision between say UK and a MAC school including UT?
