Quote:And when we look closely at the demographics of snitching, it is clear that some are more eager than others to join that army of informants. Findings from a recent Rasmussen poll using a representative sample of 1,200 registered voters revealed that the most likely conscripts in this new COVID militia are self-identified liberals who claim membership in the Democratic Party. In the poll, when respondents were asked whether they would report neighbors for holding a social gathering in their home of between 15 to 20 individuals in violation of COVID-19 stay at home orders, 44 percent of Democrats would turn in their neighbors, but only 25 percent of Republicans would do so.

..........

The most disturbing finding from the Rasmussen poll is the dramatic difference in willingness to inform on neighbors by age. Millennials are significantly more likely to see themselves as willing to be informants with 43 percent of all those age 18-24 and 44 percent of those who are age 25-34 claiming to be willing to turn in their neighbors to the police. Willingness to inform takes a dip after age 35 with those over 35 significantly less likely to turn their neighbors in. Only 34 percent of those over 35 are willing to act as snitches. The cohort least likely to turn in their neighbors are those age 65 and up. Only 28 percent of senior citizens — those that one might predict would be the busybodies of the study — would be willing to snitch on their neighbors.

Wonder if that age thing has to do with education/miseducation and understanding/remembering WHERE this willingness to turn others in was forcibly built into the culture?

Rasmussen Poll: Liberals Significantly More Likely to Snitch Than Conservatives

Ages 18-24 would be Gen Z

And ages 35-40 are still Millennials

You have it backwards. Millennials started at the turn of the millennium. I have 3 kids aged 23-29. None of them are millennials. They were all born in the 90s.

My daughters friend is an “essential”.

Why? Cause she works at a bakery.

I’m an essential. Why? Cause if I don’t do what i do, then someone else is gonna do it and I’m out of a job and out of business. Same as my people.

The only legit NON-essentials I can I.d. at this point, and it’s self identifying would be the House of Reps.

They don’t feel the need to work any more, so they’re on an extended vacation.
Who am I to argue their essentialness?

Well your youngest would be a GenZ and your 2 oldest would be millennials. The birth years for millennials (my generation) usually range between 1980 and 1995 or 1996 depending on where you look.

I personally feel, and I'm sure other generations think the same way, that the age gap for my generation of millennials is too large. There is a major difference between someone born in 86 like myself and someone born in 96. I was in high school when 9/11 happened, the top end of age bracket was 5 at the time. We had one nokia cell phone shared between my brother and I when we started driving, kids at the high end of the bracket already had smart phones.

In simplest terms - I think that accusers should have the same exposure as the accused.

If you are that offended by someone's actions, anonymity should not matter and the accused should be allowed to confront and answer the accuser. I get that people are not civil far too often, but FFS common sense has to prevail at some point. I have heard about dozens and dozens of "complaints" and 90% of them are multiples beyond overkill and paranoia.

Like everything else - you are making people numb to the legitimate complainers by flooding the whiner line with senseless complaints. If you allow people to complain about everything without thought, people will complain about everything without any thought.....
