NFL Prospects
The draft is this week. Any predictions?

Guys to keep an eye on include Calhoun, McGill, Beltram, Glass, Nielson, Sexton, and Jackson. Did I miss anyone?

RE: NFL Prospects
Glass might have punched himself out of the league already.

RE: NFL Prospects
Sexton in the last round depending on his 40 time...could see him as a Patriot for some reason.

RE: NFL Prospects
FWIW NFL.com only lists Sexton and Calhoun if you search EMU prospects. They mocked Sexton going in the 7th to the Patriots, pick 241.

Calhoun and McGill LOOK like NFL players, but have inconsistent tape. I’d like to think at least one, if not both, of the get a camp invite, but I’d be shocked if one gets drafted. Glass and Jackson both could also get to a camp. Hopefully some of them stick. We are losing some talented players.

Sadly, players coming out this year are basically screwed because of the virus.

They normally get invited to mini-camps even if their chance of sticking is very slim.

Now there probably won't be any mini-camps (I assume the NFL will move directly to pre-season camp).

I'm also sad that the XFL had to fold because of the pandemic. That league would have been Plan B for a lot of non-draftees.

RE: NFL Prospects
I'm surprised Sexton hasn't been signed, looked like his 40 time was strong and he was very consistent the last few years. Yards per reception was good as well, plus the intangibles (punt blocks etc...). Anyone hearing anything about Sexton or other Eagles getting signed?

RE: NFL Prospects
For those of you who do or may consider subscribing to The Athletic (my personal opinion is that it is really, really good and not expensive), they have a 246 page 2020 NFL draft guide which has write ups and information on hundreds and hundreds of prospects (probably well over 1,000 prospects). E.g., they have something on 90 CBs and 110 safeties. (e.g., Hoying's 40 is listed as 4.79 sec. - which should be no surprise - Hoying is an excellent FB player but a step or two too slow for the NFL.) And the are given a grades...

As a tease... here is a line from Nielsen's (it is from his pro day):

PRO DAY 6074 291 33 10 1/2 79 5.18 3.05 1.83 30 1/2 08’06” 4.78 8.13 22

Weight, 291; 33" arms; 5.18 in the 40, etc. PFA - preferred FA.

This is the type of info I wish we had on players in college (before they are graduating).

Quick pivot. Hoying is way too slow for the NFL (think he needs to be < 4.6 in the 40 to have a chance.) If the XFL had survived Covid-19, Hoying might have had a shot at that league. Maybe he'd need to be sub 4.7.
