RE: Football Recruiting
The way I see it, any player that doesn't choose us is missing out.
Their loss, not ours.
I am more ticked off at schools actively going after kids after they have committed.
I hope he stays with us and reminds all the P5 schools that missed out on him by not paying attention until it was too late.
"100% COMMITTED" - his words.

Football Recruiting
This reminds of QB Knox Kadum a few years ago. Committed to us and then quickly flipped when VT showed interest. The grass isn't always greener... Didn't work out great for him, probably would have done better developing at JMU

RE: Football Recruiting
In the words of my wise Grandfather, "don't worry about the guy you catch sitting down on the job, worry about the guy working with dirt on the seat of his britches". Meaning, what is done in the open is not your worry, what is done under cover is cause for worry. Maybe Jarvis takes another offer, maybe he just wants to get in some official visits and grab some attention while he can and then sign with JMU. I have no issues with him checking out other schools, if he then signs with us he really means it. We'll know in three weeks likely as Cig has said if they don't sign in the early period then they aren't the guy we want.

Virginia Tech is looking at him too.

RE: Football Recruiting
Jarvis will either sign with JMU in December or he won't. Those sorts of changes happen all the time. His HS coach seems to be out of line canvassing for P5 offers for his own personal ego trip. Good for Jarvis to check around, but he should have done that before his commitment (in a perfect world). And I won't hate the guy if he changes his mind.

With the transfer portal, it provides every coaching staff with flexibility, as well as for the players. If you watch Cignetti's most recent presser, he mentions that JMU needs to keep its best players.

One Antwane Wells has taken off the last two games versus Tenn and Clemson if you've noticed; and now goes by the name of Juice!

Folks getting a little aggressive about teenagers trying to decide where to play a game. Longhorn's got it right here.

Yep and a football recruit is not a girlfriend or a fiancee lol

Agreed. It's just odd to me that grown men to cast judgement on kids they only know through twitter. How does one celebrate guys quitting/decommitting and coming to JMU and then get so bent out of shape when the roles are reversed? How does one get upset at 18 year olds keeping options open and then go apply for jobs on their corporate laptop? The hypocrisy examples could go on forever. I get a potshot or two to add some humor in creatively (i.e., the first milkshake reference, not the 20th), but some folks seem to get too much enjoyment from putting down kids.

This will be my last Jarvis related post 05-deadhorse but some good advice from the former App State QB.

RE: Football Recruiting
This just seems like what the recruiting world is now with NIL. And honestly, I can’t really blame the kids. You want these school’s boosters to play off of each other, if it means getting a bigger NIL deal. Doing it publicly makes it even easier. There is no guarantee any of these recruits turn out to be anything at the next level. Yes, you want to go to the best situation possible. But you are a 17/18 year old kid that just ran for 2,000 yards, I would be thinking I could make it at any school and why not cash in while you have the opportunity to do so. It’s like any other job seeker, in my opinion.

He's already selected JMU over App St, Wake Forest and Memphis, so this isn't like he's settling for JMU and obviously thinks highly of the program. The kid grew up in Clemson and SC territory, probably dreaming of playing for them. It wouldn't be any kind of slight against JMU if he were to flip for schools like that, but if he ended up going to Tech or some other middling P5 then yeah, he was just biding his time hoping for something better.

I also feel for the kid, he's got fans and coaches chirping in his ear and messing with his decision process. Basketball is even worse, it starts for kids in middle school.

This kid may instantly become the fastest guy we have on the roster. As a Junior, he was 2nd in 100 m at the 2A track meet in Florida, and 4th in the 200 m. He can scoot. Would be nice if he can add some instant help in the special teams return game.

Looking at his HUDL videos and it looks like he lines up in the slot a lot and plays very physical. Gets his hands on the WR, has his eyes in the backfield a bunch, gets involved in helping out in the run game as well.

Noticed VT coaching staff were at Jarvis Green's championship game today, hoping we can hold on to him.

Also, Green had 200 yards by halftime of the AAAAA state championship. Impressive to say the least.

With the musical chairs of coaching going on right now recruits that had verbally committed to their old programs are opening up their recruitment. Time to jump on some of these kids as they might not see themselves at fits at the coaches new program.

Let's give the horse one last go, apparently App coaches paid him an in-home visit. Odd to post that with a SnapChat caption that says "Boone?" for someone who is "110% committed". I wish that young man the best but it keeps getting more annoying. Reminds me of when Mike Houston went to ECU and his assistants (with new purple polos) paid Rick D'Abreu a visit to his home back in December of '18 before flipping.

Welp, says he's going to sign Dec 21st but doesn't say JMU specifically. Does mention Clemson as dream school and would pick them over South Carolina. Not sure what other P5s he'd dump us for but he's def not "100%" committed. Hope it works out, seems a special kid but he's totally caught up in this campaign to get him bigger offers.

starting to sound more and more like he's 100% not coming to JMU. Good luck to him
