Actually it's not that far off. Worldmeter USA 644,089 28,529
Both numbers includes around 3900 untested deaths in NYC. About 10 days ago my wife was having most of the symptoms and if she had died I'm sure she would have counted as 1 in that total...her test came back negative. She lived but had a touch of pneumonia that has cleared up. My guess at least 25% will be just that a unproven guess
Quote:COVID-19: U.S. at a Glance*†
Total cases: 605,390
Total deaths: 24,582
Jurisdictions reporting cases: 55 (50 states, District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
*As of April 14, 2020, CDC case counts and death counts include both confirmed and probable cases and deaths. This change was made to reflect an interim COVID-19 position statement issued by the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists on April 5, 2020. The position statement included a case definition and made COVID-19 a nationally notifiable disease.
A confirmed case or death is defined by meeting confirmatory laboratory evidence for COVID-19. A probable case or death is defined by i) meeting clinical criteria AND epidemiologic evidence with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19; or ii) meeting presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence; or iii) meeting vital records criteria with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID19.

Roughly 40% of NYC deaths are undocumented. I would make a fair guess that roughly 40% of NYC's votes are undocumented, as well. Carry on, prog filth trash scum, carry on.

New York state's numbers continue to rise at ridiculous paces (750 deaths a day basically - which is over 250,000 deaths for a year if they keep up that pace for an entire year) - but I don't see those extra NYC deaths in there yet. New York state is at 11,586 deaths after 752 new ones yesterday. That's a ton but NYC doesn't have 10,000 of those 11,586 - plenty are in the suburbs and even upstate.
Basically New York continues to do everything way later than they should be. Instead of leading the nation in terms of closures, they're following the flock (like today, Cuomo ordered people to wear masks when several cities/counties have done that days ago). I still don't think New York has officially canceled schools for the rest of the school year. And they have to shut down the subways - that's an extreme step but it has to be done.
My 3 siblings in New York are all still fine, as are all their families. But I am really about this close to recommending to them to leave that state once and for all when this thing finally ends. I don't believe New York is ever going to rebound from this. 9/11 - yes. Covid-19 - no.
Prayers for your peeps. Hope they stay safe and healthy.

What is worldometer and when did it become a verified source for ANYTHING? The CDC numbers don't lie. It is obvious MOST people that are dying during all of this are being listed as dying from pneumonia and NOT CoVid-19 per the death certificate. Are the hospitals and states announcing these deaths as Covid for a reason?

I guess they need to justify the hysteria. Crazy.
Nah, the lousy bastards are just hoping for an eventual subsidy based on body count. Statistics are the first resource of any socialist. Never forget that. Why? Statistics hide the truth and are usually an unchallenged lie.
