Based on ending destinations only, it seems we upgraded talent with the transfers in.

Currently 15 players on the 2021-22 MBB roster, which doesn’t appear to include Landon Hawes who had announced he was transferring in as a walk-on from CNU. The roster last year only had 14 guys - I wonder if Hawes lost his spot? Looks to be a very exciting an athletic roster.

I'm guardedly optimistic for this season, mainly because of the in-season improvements I saw last year. I do like the ability to have so many interchangeable parts.

Still, it's hard to ignore the "shortcomings" of a roster that is so small, even by CAA standards. Seven players 6'1" or shorter and only one taller than 6'7".

same here but 6'10" players that suck at basketball, we have had a few, did not get us anywhere.

How dare you speak ill of Trevon Flores! But no, he had some good minutes on bad teams and was a good dude (I randomly met him at multiple parties in 2009-2010, sometimes the night before games even).

Yeah - at some point that could be limiting. Shouldn't hurt us as much in conference play. Not sure what ODU and GMU have as far as bigs. Took a peek at UVA - they don't have any dominating bigs. Looks like a ECU 6-7 transfer will be the best front court player. He does have some weight at 235 pounds. His game against us last year he was fine, but hardly dominating.

Yeah, I cut Eric some slack and excluded him from that exclusive list. One, because he was a dorm-mate freshman year. And two, because he did have one year as a starter where he was an 8/5 guy.

I was privileged to witness a Thom Brand dunk, live and in a NCAA game against a D1 team. I think it was American University…. We went nuts

Those were some pretty bad years especially 85-86.

Is Bowls the only legit 6'10" plus that was good in JMU history?

Rob Strickland had moments.

Great question. Some of the greatest if not the greatest JMU teams were when Ralph as at UVa.
