Offer tweet retweeted by AK...

As it should be, 6'7 guard is something we hated to have the past eight years( Thank God Haase--Ehsan is gone).

Under the impression these are our last two guys, unless somebody else leave out the returning nine.

RE: Hoops recruiting
1. Wondering in the NCAA will move or extend the Spring signing period for 2020.

2. Looking to the class of 2021, there are several local kids who are prospects in both basketball and football. Don't know if we can sign any of them, but going on the axiom "you never know til you try", a coordinated recruiting effort by both the basketball and football programs might help.

Ga'Quincy "Kool Aid" McKinstry, Pinson Valley (@GaQMcK1)
Top ranked fb player in state and has multiple D1 basketball offers

Malachi Bennett, Fairfield (@MightyMal_2)
Top rated wr in state, has college basketball ability

Christian Lewis, Pleasant Grove (@ChrisLew__)
2nd ranked receiver in state, excellent bb player

Trinity Bell, Albertville (@OfficialTrinnn)
2nd rated fb athlete, 3rd rated bb player in state, appears to want to play both sports in college

Kennedy said we’d(college basketball, in general) likely be signing guys as late as August. From an interview with a Memphis host.

Multiple P5 FB offers (Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, Nebraska, ...); offer to play both by Jacksonville State, I think.

Remember that if a player wants to play football and another sport, he must sign a football scholarship. Because of past behavior where football coaches used other sport's scholarships to add football players, the NCAA has ruled that other sports' scholarship players cannot play football. The last to do so that I recall was Rod Widby of UTK who played FB and BB.

If anyone wants to constantly take shots at the former staff take it to the smack board. Enough. I’m happy we have a new coach but damn. Don’t even argue with me.

RE: Hoops recruiting
No idea about the rules, but if a prospect from high school doesn't sign with anyone during the period I'm guessing they can sign with whatever school they want to anytime afterwards.

There may be rules for visits, etc. though.

& I would be surprised if we signed 2 in state players. Maybe 1.

If Kennedy has taken a look at the team then he knows we need someone to fill Butler's position.

That screams Juco.

I think there is still an outside chance Butler gets another year. I don’t think the NCAA has definitely made a ruling on the winter sport athletes yet.

We got one Alabama guy, unless youre talking about the two remaining where we offered a Alabama kid.

If he took a look then he knows he needs more than that.

Fredricks is probably a huge part of this thing next season

UAB has landed a commitment from 2020 Mae Jemison (AL) guard Tony Toney. New head coach Andy Kennedy makes a splash with one of Alabama’s top senior prospects

Recruiting seems to be similar to Kam Woods. Extremely productive in high school, but few college offers. Also, with the COVID-19 issue schools can't have visitors to campus to take a look at the player first hand. For example, oftentimes guys are indicated taller in high school than they actually are. Coaches like to see players for themselves...

Not many from what i last knew. Late bloomer, definitely not 3 instate but a good 4 year guy. Was like top 15 late rankings i really saw but some may have changed with reclassification and guys leaving the state like Sears and King.

Instate state kid I'd gladly take, has some game.

I’ve never really followed recruiting for any sports...but based on some links in the other thread, looks like it’s probably a kid from Mountain Brook who is headed to Xavier

I think his brother plays for MTSU (Arkansas transfer) and his father played for UAB...
