Hoops recruiting - BlazinBham - 03-20-2020 06:37 PM

-First offer goes to Juco Forward Jermaine Marshall. A Hueytown Grad. Currently a freshman. He broke the single season rebounding record for Florida Southwestern State college. Say that 5 times. He is a qualifier, which means he can leave Juco now with 3 years to play. Averaged 10 and 8, 50%FG and 65%FT

-Jude is transferring.

Marshall is 6' 6", 200 lbs.

RE: Hoops recruiting - WesternBlazer - 03-20-2020 08:52 PM

Seems to be exploding with a ton of MM interest recently including SMiss, Sam Houston State, Kent State, Fresno State, Iowa State, Akron, FGCU, Drake

Versatile looking player. Reminds me a bit of Elijah Millsap.

Hope we sign him.

More of a shorter Ovie Soko.

Like to see us offer Kam Woods from Pinson Valley. Maybe not a prototype at either guard position but he can play and he's a winner.

I guess I'd say he's like Mo Finley in that regard. A high scoring guard in a smallish body. More of a scorer than a creator. Still worth a spot.

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazerMatt - 03-21-2020 12:11 AM

My only worry about Kam Woods is that he reminds me a lot of Jarvis Calhoun. Very good shooter, skilled scorer, but undersized and with a slow release on his jumper. I think like Jarvis Calhoun, he is going to find it very difficult to adjust to college level defenders.

Austin Harvell To Tennessee Tech
Boozer Brothers to Jacksonville

Some guys me and Dee had discussed.

Tommy Murr is somebody you’d wish didn’t sign early. 45 points a game? Is that real?

RE: Hoops recruiting - the_blazerman - 03-21-2020 07:54 AM

I wouldn't recruit anybody that Mountain Brook decided not to pick up.

Want two Benjamin's?

I do wonder what PG type AK needs to get this thing rolling

Instate talent available on all levels for 2020.

Really watching the 2021 guys JD Eatmon (Birmingham/Wenonah) and Jamel King (Tuskaloosa, AL/some prep school in AZ) since we have four for 2021

RE: Hoops recruiting - Big Dee - 03-21-2020 08:59 AM

Bring Isaac Chatman home coach before coach Mike Davis signs him

RE: Hoops recruiting - THE_LEGEND - 03-21-2020 09:52 AM

Marshall is described as a smaller Dennis Rodman.

Any team would be better with a Dennis Rodman...the Pistons one not the Bulls one.

RE: Hoops recruiting - BlazerGreen - 03-21-2020 10:02 AM

Do we have 2 more spots to fill or 3 now that Jude is leaving? Sorry if this has been answered in a different thread.

RE: Hoops recruiting - the_blazerman - 03-21-2020 11:21 AM

I'm guessing this prospect would probably take Tavin's place.

RE: Hoops recruiting - Blazer Engineer - 03-21-2020 11:32 AM

Gordon has a lot of talent. I think he will be good with the right coaching.
