I guess it isn't official until the press conference, but congratulations Blazers. I think this is your ticket back into Pod 1. Well, it might take a couple of years. And the pods probably won't exist anymore. But Kennedy is going to be good for you.

That's the way I see it, also. It's not like he had D1 schools lined up knocking on his door. He was fired from his last job...13 years as a head coach, 2 trips to the NCAA Tourney.

Middle of the road contract and up it if he wins

You call taking a team to 2 NCAA Tourney in 13 seasons...more with less? Western paid Stansbury $500,000 his first year and that's for a coach that had 8 trips to the NCAA Tourney out of 14...jumped to $650,000 in 2018

I fail to see any point you were trying to make because in the 6 years both coached in the SEC...Stansbury went to the ncaa tourney 4 times. SEC Reg. Season Champion 3 out of 6. A Andy Kennedy coached team never made the ncaa tourney in that 6 year period.

More with less? His B again? Now if you said Stansbury does less with more...I might have agreed with that.

It was Ole Miss, not exactly a basketball juggarnaut. Kennedy was their most successful coach ever so that should tell you something.

But he's a UAB all time great so if they pay him a mil I'm good with that.

Absolutely Magnificent Hire by UAB. Congrats Blazers! I'm glad some universities in CUSA know how to select a successful veteran Men's Basketball Coach. Wish our AD could've done the same.

I think it’s absolutely a great hire. Talk about getting enthusiasm in a program. Stanz did that to WKU. Especially now, it’s needed. UAB is too good of a program to go down the road y’all were going.
