They offered him no compensation for their mistake. They could have allowed an immediate transfer, but did they make that offer? I don't think so.

The school's hands are somewhat tied, but Wiseman has nothing to lose, everything to gain, and the money to do it.

Good luck proving damages in court. He is still going to be a sure fire top 5 pick and it was never guaranteed he would be the #1 overall pick. Player drop on draft boards all the time for a multitude of reasons so he would really have no case.

^ Also, according to Gary "talked to some NBA people", he may drop a spot or two because he quit and that is something they will be concerned about. So they can always use that against him if he tried to sue.

That is really the other side of the coin as well. They did not suspend him for the season, only 12 games. He made the decision to walk away for the remainder of the season.

They volunteer to become a member of the NCAA and to follow their rules (no matter how bad). If you don't want their rules, leave the NCAA.

I wish all schools would leave and force changes.

To me probably the biggest problem with the NCAA is that they are stuck on archaic ideas of amateurism. It ends up leading to a lot of these rules/bylaws that cause the problems we see.
