Equity in Athletics Database Fiscal Yr 2018-19
AAC 2018/2019 athletic year revenue numbers
$70,501,474 SMU
$68,359,639 UCF
$68,285,574 UH
$60,004,621 Temple
$55,494,325 UM
$55,103,914 USF
$53,555,898 UC
$50,722,801 ECU
$42,986,622 Tulsa
$37,101,339 Tulane
I struggle to see how all these schools except UCF and Memphis are ahead of us. Out of curiosity, I compared the revenue breakdown between UC and SMU. Seems like the biggest difference is the revenue SMU is making for women's sports (they garner $22M vs. our $9M). That being said they are still slightly ahead of us in both football and basketball in revenue, despite the fact we have more seating in our facilities.

Yeah, I never trust private school numbers when it comes to public revenue figures. They can game the hell out of numbers in a way no public school could due to the fact that they're not beholden to the same sunshine laws we are. Given how irregular their number for this past year is, I'm going to go ahead and guess they had some Oil Baron money come in, because they sure as heck are not operational revenues.

Just looked at Houston's; somehow they out earned us in hoops in 2018-19 by a couple million when they have maybe 3-4K tops at their games. They must do a heck of a job fundraising.

Well, they have a billionaire who owns the Rockets who gave the $20M a few years ago to renovate their arena and build a new practice facility, so they've likely spread that over a few years, which is where the manufactured revenue numbers come in for them.

Wonder how we're going to make up the revenue lost when FCC moves out?

I would say that's a safe bet. I do believe that in the realignment sweepstakes the Big 12 would, for instance, look at a relatively small basketball arena with plenty of open seats alongside a football stadium the size of Nippert that also features plenty of patrons disguised as vacant seats, and ask the question, "what happens to revenues if and when that one donor leaves?".
Cougar fans will argue the point I'm sure, but UC attendance for both major sports suggests Cincy is much more "P5 ready" and with a more sustainable, broad base of support than Houston.

I seem to recall that parking (and perhaps concessions) are not credited to the athletic department at UC. If money from student fees considered revenue? Does UCF get credited for all the New Year's Six bowl game money even though it gets shared in the conference?
So many possible accounting tricks in play here. TV, bowl and NCAA tournament money should be the same for all schools (except if any Big East money is still coming in). I would think our ticket revenue should as good as or better than the rest of the conference. What else is considered revenue?

UC Parking Services a is a cost recovery unit so profit made for Athletics events parking does not go to Athletics bottom line.
