Super Tuesday primaries
Might as well start this thread now. Only 2 days away from deciding something like a third of the delegates.

Interesting poll I just came across:

"A recent Wall Street Journal/NBC poll, conducted Feb. 14-17, showed that 67 percent of voters said they would be uncomfortable with a socialist candidate for president, 57 percent said the same of a candidate who suffered a heart attack, and 53 percent would be uncomfortable with someone age 75 or older. (Sanders is 78.)"

I say Crazy Bernie wins all except VA and NC. The stupid virus is giving Sleepy Joe a dead cat bounce.

There are actually 14 states voting. Most are slam dunks for Bernie. Alabama will go to Biden. According to FiveThirtyEight, here are the states that could be close.

North Carolina (Sanders with a 43 pct chance of winning, Biden 36)
Minnesota (Klobuchar and Bernie tied at 47 each)
Tennessee (Sanders and Biden tied at 39 each)
Oklahoma (35 pct Sanders, Biden and Bloomberg at 30 each)
Arkansas (38 Bernie, Bloomberg 28, Biden 25)

As I posted elsewhere, I think Warren does strong in California. And she needs to be close to Bernie at least in Massachusetts. She pretty much has to or she's done. We'll be done with Klobuchar and Buttigieg after Tuesday. Maybe Bloomberg too if he doesn't do much.

It's also worth talking about some of the down ballot races in various states. I guess the Alabama Republican Senate primary might be one of the more interesting races going on? There's a really interesting local House race for me in Texas that isn't generating any national news, but several high profile Republicans are going to be disappointed they didn't make a runoff election come Wednesday.

Big endorsement for Biden in VA

He needs to show he is the best non Bernie candidate and the field needs to narrow to a 1-1 race after Super Tuesday. It might be too late then but that is the best way to get this thing signed sealed and delivered and avoid a contested convention zoo

RE: Super Tuesday primaries
Biden is gonna need to pull off a few wins on Super Tuesday for South Carolina to matter. Otherwise, this is just his version of CiA Pete's good finishes in all-white states. He's gotta cross viability in California and pull off victories in at least a few of NC/VA/Texas to keep Bernie from really cleaning up.

Biden is the only one Bernie ever really needed to "fear" in terms of being able to actually beat him. Petey was never a real thing and Bloomy is just racist Steyer wasting more money. The good thing for Bernie is that Biden took so much of a beating the entire month and had to use up so many resources and political capital to keep his campaign alive in South Carolina that it's gonna be hard to do anything between now and Tuesday to greatly change those races. Everyone who voted early in any of those states did so during the peak of Biden crashing, and Bernie has the much larger and better-organized ground game in all those states.

RE: Super Tuesday primaries
Here is the full list of all the Super Tuesday elections. All are primaries except for two caucus

Delagtes and My thoughts included

Alabama (52)- You gotta take Biden in this one as Bernie struggles in the SEC states. Bernie gets a cut of the delegates but not close to 50-50

Arkansas (31) - Same as Alabama

California (415) - Bernie will win this one but he is going to need Joe Biden SC levels of victory to really take advantage of the delegate allocation

Colorado (67) - Bernie should take this one big

Maine (24) - Bernie in a big win

Massachusetts (91) - Bernie in a win but Warren keeps closer and they basically go 50-50 on delegate math

Minnesota (75) - Bernie in a win by Klob keeps it closer and they go close to 50-50 on delegate split

North Carolina (110)- Bernie in a close win - close to 50-50 delegate split with Biden

Oklahoma (37) - Bernie?? Are there any Democrats in OK?

Tennessee (64) - Biden - Same as Alabama

Texas (228) - Interesting here Biden and Bernie should both do well. I think they split 50-50 with Bernie getting a close popular vote win

Utah (29) - Biden?? - Same as OK are there any Democrats in UT?

Vermont (16) - Bernie in a delegate sweep. Side note - I find it hilarious that Liberal utopia Vermont has less Delegates than UT and OK

Virginia (99) - I see Bernie winning the poll, but there is no was they DC suburbanites that now run VA go for Bernie. With Biden's SC dominance he is now the establishment choice. Biden wins but Bernie gets a cut of the delegates

America Samoa CAUCUS (6) - Biden? Dont these territory cacuses usually go establishment?

Democrats Abroar CAUCUS (13) - Biden? Same as Samoa

Overall result: Bernie and Biden narrow the field to a one on one race moving forward. Bloomberg busts and the others do what they have been doing. If Bernie can rack up in California he may have the math to make it Bernie or Brokered. If not then it will be Bernie or Biden

The polls indicate a massive win for Bernie in California. Warren is just above the 15% mark. Everyone else is way below If Warren does poorly, Sanders gets all the delegates. The polls look like he gets 2/3 and Warren 1/3.

If Bernie can get the delegate sweep in CA that would be massive no doubt. For that to happen Bernie would need to be the only viable candidate in every CD plus the statewide results.

With Biden not trying in CA and Bloomberg not likely to be a candidate CA would really go for, I think CA has the potential to be a real goldmine for Bernie.

Tuesday night and Wednesday will be very interesting for sure

I'm interested in my state to see what our Dems our feeling. NC is such a melting pot of the Dem coalition that it could be a jumbled mess

My wife was asking this morning why everyone was in such a panic over CoronaVirus.
I made some comment about all the news coverage. My daughter gets it. She said, if the media didn't get people all excited about it they would be irrelevant and noone would pay attention to them.

So, quick math.

That’s like 177% that would be against the Bern.

Damn. Fascinating AND impressive.

Biden leading in the last 2 NC polls. However that type of result with Bloomberg also being viable, would be a delegate draw
