Did anybody watch Bloomberg's Town Hall last night? That guy is the worst public speaker I've seen in a long time. Even Biden, with all his gaffes, is better than Mike.

RE: Super Tuesday primaries
I'm with you tripleA... FBO and Mensa are SO FAR off the reservation about why Trump won that they still don't get what happened in 2016 and why Bernie cannot win a General Election despite being the left most-candidate.

Trump won because a) He promised he was not a DC guy. He was a deal maker and he would get deals made to get _things_ done (not everything, but as much as he could). Republicans in 2018 however, were still considered entrenched enough that they lost a midterm election in the House that _should_ have been a blow-out Republican run away election.

b) We (the voters) were getting force fed so much Hillary and "Democrats are good for us" from the Media, that it was a blow-back against the Media as much as anything.

c) Trump did put out good ideas, and he put them out so they were understandable by the average voter. Build Wall, pay as little as possible; Improve our trade deal standings (dump NAFTA, replace with CAMUS); Guarantee a conservative SCOTUS nomination.

(03-02-2020 04:53 PM)TripleA Wrote:  But he didn't win b/c he had the best ideas, either.

Trump won b/c there were enough swing voters in the swing states who aren't tied to a party that have had it with everything connected to DC politics, and "drain the swamp" appealed to enough of them.

And I think Trump will win again, b/c Bernie and Biden are as establishment DC as anybody can be, despite Bernie's so-called "revolution," which is way too drastic for most swing voters who actually decide elections.

For anyone who thinks Bernie can win a general election with his current stance... it ain't happening. Yes, Bernie will get the "free college" vote crowd, and the "make the 1%'ers pay", but the majority of even the average labor-union, blue collar Democratic voter is like "WTF"?

Which is going to put the media in a major bind as well, because again other than the truly totally-anarchistic outsider the DC beltway media (Again, think Young Turks, Russia Today, etc.), there is nobody that wants to see Sanders policies implemented. (Other than Antifa and Socialists/Communists).

You make a good point about the MSM. I personally know people who voted for Trump b/c they realize the media is so dishonest and one-sided.

It certainly hasn't improved since 2016, lol.

RE: Super Tuesday primaries
Just heard an Obama adviser say that Bloomberg hurt Biden last night on the eve of Super Tuesday by making a pitch for himself, and likely pulling votes from Biden.

Isn't that what candidates are supposed to do? Make a pitch for themselves?

Agree, but this guy is an ardent Obama aide who wants all the other "moderates" to drop out so one of them can defeat Bernie.

Bloomie's candidacy is obviously going to take votes from Biden today.

RE: Super Tuesday primaries
Votes this morning in NC. No line but this precinct is in a fairly conservative area and GOP primary is not a real draw this year on national or state level for NC. Plus I went a little after 9 so I may have missed the morning before work rush.

Still think Biden will win NC but the delegates will be fairly even between the 2

Maybe the one with dementia should drop out.

How many were Republican voters? Can't tell I bet. My wife and I will be going out today to vote for Bernie here in Virginia. I figure Trump will beat him like a drum, plus the fact that even a lot of the Democrats seem to dislike him make him a good choice for me.

This makes at least 2 presidential elections in a row that the Democrats had terrible candidates running.

RE: Super Tuesday primaries
Well I braved the rain and the spread of the Corona Virus 19 to vote today and ate lunch with my wife and spoke with Tubberville who was having BBQ as well.

I started to vote for Bernie just for the hell of it but couldn't stomach asking for a Dem ballot so DJT it was along with the Republican Senate primary where all I'll say is that I didn't vote for Jeffy boy.

I will enjoy the angst and carnage tonight as Dem party bosses twist in the breeze with every Bernie advance. Piss on 'em! They made their bed and then they wet it!
