Techno Fog has the questions the jurors had to fill out.

I believe we know that she admitted to running for congress as a democrat. This is why Stones attornies tried to have her removed from the jury pool, but the judge would not allow it. The question now is, on the publication of social media onabout Stone, she had to have answered No. And we know this was a lie. (And is probably why she was deleting her FB posts like mad last night. )

RE: Stone Case - DOJ Stepping in (Draining of the swamp underway)
Rick Wilson spectacularly filets trump's boy toy Stone. 03-lol

Quote:The Trump media has been bleating for two days now that the original sentence recommended by the career Justice Department officials that Stone serve his twilight years breaking rocks, stamping out license plates, and working in a prison call center was a massive miscarriage of justice, a horror beyond words and reason, and a grim penalty for a wee, decrepit old dandy barely able to totter to the stand in his own defense.

Horseshit. The sentence Stone faced was appropriate because his actions weren’t simply a criminal — and criminally stupid — defense of the president. They were just one part of a wider assault from the transparently corrupt Trump-Barr kleptocracy on the entire administration of justice in the United States. William Barr, who has taken on the role of Trump’s family attorney, put his greasy thumb on the scale this week, demanding the U.S. attorneys in the case reduce Stone’s recommended sentence.

It led to the withdrawal of all four of the prosecutors, and the resignation of one. Barr’s bull-in-a-china-shop efforts on Stone’s behalf were comically absurd, driven by a Trump tweet, and will no doubt land him in front of congressional committees for a full political rectal exam in the immediate future.

Quote:In the late 1990s, I once asked the famous (or infamous, depending on your perspective) New York political operator Ray Harding about Stone. Harding was a man who knew where all the bodies — literal and metaphorical — were buried. He looked across his desk from behind a cloud of unfiltered-Camel smoke and said to me, “Roger parlayed one line of bull**** into a career. The only person who buys his bull**** is that moron Trump.”

At least some justice has come for Fort Lauderdale’s most prominent Penguin cosplayer and sleaze-ball boulevardier already. Trump left his former confidant hanging for two years, reducing Stone to penury in a one-bedroom apartment. Even if Trump pardons him, Stone will never work in politics again at any serious level — not that he did anyway.

He’ll never get out from under his legal bills. His speaking circuit appearances at local Republican clubs in Florida often bring in tens of dollars, and it’s gonna take longer than Stone has on this Earth to catch up. His days as a provocateur are over. He may get a hit or two on Infowars or OANN, but he’ll never be in the big green rooms again. His days without having the mark of “felon” — pardoned or not — branding him are over.
Roger Stone Knows Trump’s Secrets. That’s Why He’ll Avoid Prison

It's just a damned good thing that trump didn't meet Barr in a plane on a tarmac!

"...The media and other Democrats did not care about that story, except to spin it as an exoneration, somehow, of the Department of Justice and FBI. They never suggested that the agencies’ adoption of an unhinged conspiracy theory of treasonous collusion with Russia was a problem. They didn’t see a crisis with the use against political opponents of human informants, overseas intelligence assets, wiretaps, and national security letters. They didn’t care that the surveillance was inappropriately acquired. They didn’t care about the dozens upon dozens of criminal leaks that were deployed through a compliant media to set a false narrative of collusion.

But they care if someone attempts to stop any of these shenanigans...."

Sessions was Trump's biggest mistake in appointments.

"...The real constitutional crisis was the sidelining of an attorney general for years while an out-of-control special counsel probe attempted to destroy an administration duly elected by the people. Attempts to restore a degree of political accountability to the Department of Justice are the furthest thing from a problem.

Political accountability scares Todd and other perpetrators of the Russia collusion hoax. But if the American people are to have any trust in a powerful law enforcement agency, they need to know that they have some oversight of it, through their duly elected leader and the people he chooses to appoint to the post."

Precisely. Pretty much exactly what I just typed on another thread.

She needs to be indicted for perjury ASAP.

I am starting to believe that when history is written, the tag line for 2020 will be, "The Empire Strikes Back."

Disagree with this... just a different kind of sleazy.

Trump plays chicken with other nations, negotiating from a position of strength and uses 'hype' to generate support and enthusiasm... It's the biggest, the greatest, the most etc etc etc and the left focuses on these 'lies'. This is what salesmen do.

Politicians negotiate from a position of personal power under the guise of public good.

While Obama didn't do this intentionally I don't think... Obama's speeches about ending American Exceptionalism was so welcomed by the rest of the world that they gave him the Nobel Peace Prize... because of course that is good for those other nations at our expense. They love him and he's a globally revered person.

Trump said, you want our protection, you need to make it worth OUR while..., which of course they like less.

All these leftists who have argued for decades that we spend too much on defense... so now we have a President who isn't spending less on Defense, but at least seems to be TRYING to spend less on defending others and making them defend themselves, which of course opens up the door for us to spend less.... and they're suddenly 'nation builders'.

Liberals should really stop talking about Stone. It's not an argument they can win.

Exactly. The only way that we can cut defense is if other countries agree to pick up the slack. This goes back to the way we bribed the rest of the world at Bretton Woods. Their nations, their economies, and their militaries were all in shambles. We were the only major country to come through unscathed. So we told them, "We will give you one-way access into our markets so you can sell what you make, and we will use our military (primarily Navy) to protect you supply chains so you don't have to spend money rebuilding your military to pre-war levels, but there's one catch--you've got to be on our side in the Cold War."

It worked. The western nations had 40-50 years of peace and unprecedented prosperity.

The problem is that it worked too well. When the Berlin Wall fell, nobody knew what to do next. 30 years later, we still don't. Trump probably understands this, or at least acts as if he understands this, better than any of his predecessors. Our paradigm needs to change. Someone once said, "The Cold War called and wants their foreign policy back." Donald Trump is the first US president willing to give it back. The problem is that the entrenched Beltway bureaucracy has enjoyed micromanaging the world for the last 70 years, and they're not ready to give it up, no matter how badly they have screwed it up.

My thought is that, with Brexit, we do a trade deal with UK, and expand that into a larger deal with the Commonwealth. There has been talk on some military message boards that I follow about a combined Commonwealth military. That would be no worse than the 4th strongest military in the world, and the 2nd strongest Navy. I could see the benefit of going as far as some sort of associate membership in the Commonwealth, with a free trade zone and some sort of combined military policy. With two carriers, UK could take a load off us in Europe, and India could do similarly in the Indian Ocean. Australia and New Zealand can't contribute much in the Pacific, but they could still give us some slack at the margins. Plus, I think it would be neat to get to compete in the Commonwealth Games.
