Used to be that you had five years to play four. That would mean he used his redshirt year, a transfer year and has three years to play starting in 2021. Has that changed? Who knows.

I thought you get one transfer now where you were eligible immediately?

I believe unless it's a JUCO, you have to have a transfer exception, waiver, grad transfer to be able to play immediately.

This was my understanding and since he was part of the team all year under current rules, without an exception he would have to sit out 2020. I'm all for immediate eligibility, at least once in a players 5 years.

New verbal, 2021 Dual QB Elijah Wesley from Canton McKinley

Was reported that he had committed to Miami only a month ago. So, that was a quick change.

As I said before it’s early. But our class is at 39. That’s pretty sweet. Our coaches are doing a fantastic job. Hopefully we can keep these guys though the signing period.

hopefully there's a season. the whitmer kid getting a waiver (likely) would really help the middle of the defense. shaw doesn't really pop to me on film. strikes me as more of reliable fundamentally sound positive yards type of back than someone special, but he is very well regarded by people who follow recruiting closer than me. i like the size of the recruits. hope to see a few high level oline signees. that position group seems to have faded a bit in recent years

Pono... I would say the last time we had a truly dominant O line was 2016 or maybe 2015. It's been a while and that was ALWAYS UT's strong-suit. Like you said this has trademark has faded in recent years and I agree that recent additions to this position group also appear to be below competition grade. I'm guessing it'll be a couple years till we really get it rolling in this area. I think we will possibly take two more O lineman in 2021 just because of weakness in past classes. Some may disagree but I too see this as a core area that needs a BIG TIME upgrade. Current 2021 commitments seem to be an upgrade in strength, size, and talent.

Go Rockets!

RE: 2021 Football Recruiting Thread
As far as Shaw is concerned it is a little hard to tell his skill set. He plays in the biggest classification in Illinois (8A) I believe and he averaged 8 YPC. He is not a juker but is more of a straight line hit the hole with a couple of break away moves. Obviously the coaches love him so we'll see.

It's always hard to evaluate talent. Last years 2 RB's played in much inferior competition compared to Shaw. Lynch was in a private school league and Constant in NYC. I think Lynch's team was state champion so Lynch was basically the best player on a state champion private school team. Constant only played part of his senior year. I don'y know why he season was abbreviated. I don't think it was an injury. anyone know?

Losing our starting Sr center before the season started did not help matters last

Rosi was a preferred walk on. I wonder when he will get a scholarship?

Hope they explained that the jersey #7 is retired!

I see we moved up in the recruit rankings. It doesn’t appear we have anyone new. So I’m guessing they have re-evaluated our commits.
