One P5 school
Two G5 schools
One FCS school
Only Houston is different next season, and they played a FCS team this season. So, I'm not surprised everyone voted for their own teams, because all the schedules are similar and the conference as a whole doesn't benefit all that much from, say, Temple going 4-0 as opposed to Tulane, or UCF, or Cincy, or SMU.
I, of course, voted for SMU because after next year we will have a VASTLY different team going into 2021 with no real record of being able to rebuild, so SMU needs to be able to take advantage of Shane Buechele, Granson, Roberson, and the others while we have them. I distinctly told people at the beginning of the season that SMU isn't in a position to turn down a 10 win season and that going the transfer route, despite it's short term mentality, would be successful if they could get that two years in a row - and again, that was before the success of this past season. So I stand by my pick for my school.
(Looks at both Temple and UCF's schedule)

Fine. Minor revision made for Temple having RUTGERS and UCF.
But you'll understand if I basically stand by what I said.
And Tulane. You stand by what you said with three errors?

Yeah but we'll win the AAC whose members will have some impressive OOC wins if all goes well.

My 2020 AAC Conference Predictions
1. SMU
2. Cincinnati
3. UCF
4. Navy
5.Memphis
6. Tulsa
7. Temple
8. Tulane
9. Houston
10. USF
11. ECU
Title Game: SMU 28 - Cincy 24
Is SMU grad transferring in an entire defense?
If Moore returns we have a chance to have the best LB's in the conference, and since we have a chance to take a step forward in almost every category on offense we may just as well plan on flat out outscoring people. Not saying we are going to be the best, but Pony ain't crazy.
But again, we need to take advantage next year, because we are going to lose ALOT afterwards.
Cincinnati is returning the best safety and two of the best corners in the league... Will most likely have the best D-line and DB group in the league. It's going to be a fun game to watch. I really can't wait to watch the chess match between SMU offense and UC defense. That's the game I'm really looking forward to especially if both teams come through undefeated... Hopefully we wouldn't have a repeat of last year having to play the same team two weeks in a row.

UCF is the right answer because of the reputation we've built up the last few years. We would be the highest ranked team if undefeated simply due to recency bias of pollsters. UC and Memphis are also right there as well.

Tulsa.
AAC membership is on the line this year.
A non winning season = getting “Temple’d” out of the AAC.

Lol. The reports I heard about them slashing their athletics funding is troubling. They're a private school so their budget isn't available as a public record so I can't pull it up and verify myself but I've heard it from sources I trust.

This. In our conferences short history UCF's established ourselves as the football power. We've won the conference 4 of the 7 years and gone to 3 NY6 bowls going 2-3.

I agree with OC, UC and UCF (probable favorites in Eastern group) v Memphis and SMU (probable favs in Western group) should be scheduled earlier in the year to prevent last year's scenario with same teams 2 weeks in a row for Championship Game. However, don't think SMU v UCF is on schedule next year.

its a fact. they will use new tv money on the school. Athletics will continue to be funded at a level lower than AAC agreed upon standards.
Tulsa risks being booted from the AAC after next FB season for lack of investment in athletics.

It's a great opportunity for the conference to rack up some wins.
I'm considering going to the Navy Notre Dame game in Dublin. That would be one hell of a trip!

I remember that comment from the AD, and I think it's being misinterpreted a little bit. I think he said something like, the school is currently supplementing athletics. With the additional money, the school doesn't have to fork over as much. i.e. the athletics program will be able to stand on its own, or at least to a greater extent.
I get that the sum total is basically the same thing. It's likely the preference of most members for the school to continue supplementing at the same level, with the additional revenue going to a net increase in athletics spending.
We'll all probably end up doing it a little different (less/same/more school money into athletics) under the new deal.
