If my alma mater covered up decades long abuse by serial pedophile I’d burn my diploma and never go back. But congrats on compromising your basic human decency in order to win some ball games and protect a fragile old man’s ego. If there’s a hell Paterno is there.

Are all Tennessee'ans as classy as you ?

I know (read "assume") YOU didn't personally sexually abuse a bunch of teenagers in the shower, and I know it has to be a b!tch to defend your alma matre for something YOU didn't do. These idiots would have you abandon Penn State for the sins of Sanduski and Joe Pa, and, as an extension, the whole student body. So.... what? Penn State needs to close down permanently because of that mess? I'm guessing that's their position. But I'm sure those that were criminally responsible were held accountable, and that's all we as a society can ask for.

They WERE held responsible for their actions? Yes?...

I don't appreciate that.

I mean... I fell bad to say that, but I feel worse having our fans dragging out the Sandusky card against fans of their school that had nothing to do with it, and didn't know about it while it happened. Imagine if something like that was uncovered at Memphis. Are you gonna abandon your Alma Matre? Look, I spent 1985 through 1989, and 2010 through 2016 going to Architecture classes and gen. ed. classes. Met many great people, great fellow students, great professors (and some jerks), great campus workers, and created a lifetime's worth of social and professional connections. My 3 kids have done the same from 2010 through next year at a minimum. Now, imagine if it came out that WWW was a serial sex abuser, and Calipari covered it up? I'm not going to trash my attachment to my Alma Matre due to the actions of others, and that's what it seems like some are expecting PSU fans to do.

So, sorry, not sorry. I like you, and others, but I'm not going to compromise my position due to fan association.

And I'm not going to stop declaring they should have been shut down. Not just the football program, the school. It was a felony factory.

If that happened at Memphis and they shut down the program, I'd feel like we got off easy.

Yep. Buying players is one thing. What happened there was criminal. If anything ever deserved the death penalty, that would have been it.

There are several "TBDs", but thus far, outside of the CFP games, the Memphis/Penn St. Cotton Bowl holds the highest TV ratings by far among the Bowl games at 6.22M.

There was no punishment proportional to the crime. SMU gets the death penalty. PSU gets reduction of NCAA sanctions after Penn St fans lobbied their legislature and the NCAA caved under legislative pressure. Now - just a short time later - Penn St enjoys high level success while the abused kids still suffer. The message sent is a school can get away with unspeakable crimes if they have enough money and power. Disgusting.

If one has the stomach for it, following is a reminder of the atrocious crimes committed by PSU coaches and the cover up by the school: https://www.cnn.com/2013/10/28/us/penn-s...ndex.html.

Well then clt needs to go find a thread that deals with basketball. THIS thread is about football. Roughly...
