I'd say if you are in the Metro NYC area visit NYC once to say that you've been here and then try to experience the scenic views within 200 mile of NYC... Doesn't matter which direction, they are there.

RE: Expansion. Your favorite G4 school?
Honestly there isn't a perfect fit, solid candidates yes, but all have their weaknesses. I like the Army/VCU or Dayton idea. Obviously BYU, Boise, Colorado St, or SDSU would be my top candidates.

But I'll rate the teams in ECU's area imo.

1) ODU imo they have the most potential of any team in the area. Great fanbase, good hoops, and good womens hoops and baseball. 2nd best market on the list.
2) App St, the best football program of the bunch, they don't offer anything else, but they have a good fanbase and perhaps with an AAC brand their hoops would get better (I know we lost to App St this year)
3) Charlotte typically a commuter school, but there is $ there, good facilities, and the best market of the bunch. Football had a nice season, but athletically they have been down for awhile.
4) Coastal Carolina, solid football, facilities are not good outside of baseball, myrtle beach is a nice road trip. Decent football and hoops, elite baseball (I know not that as relevant, but true)
5) Liberty, Good hoops for now, football improving, and facilities are great. Not a great market, but good fanbase.

This thread is a sad version of the bachelor.

Just a bunch of hopeless programs begging for crumbs.

I can't see any of those programs getting enough votes. The new members should come from the A- 10 and/ or MWC .If and when we expand we need to add programs that strength our brand. BYU , Army , MWC all sports and A-10 basketball adds are only programs that move the needle.

I wasn't advocating for them, just my view on them.

Couldn’t agree more. We joined CUSA w/the expectation that ECU would be a member, and would make for a great rival (and easy travel game for both fan bases). And a game against Navy would be a huge draw in Norfolk, which everyone knows is the largest navy base on the east coast. My father was in the Navy, which is why I live in the 757.

I've never been there except driving from Philly to Atlantic City in a rental. Jersey is very pretty too. The entire Northeast is an area everyone needs to see. It's much more than just New York City.

Yes, central Pa can be very scenic depending on where you are. I also like northern New Jersey for it's scenic views. You get to see black bears up close and personal in northern New Jersey, if you want to. I go to northern Pa to see the Elk and go to Maine to see the Moose and go on whale watching trips. I go to Conowingo Dam to see dozens of Bald Eagles. Yes the north east has plenty to offer for wildlife and nature photographers like myself.

Yeah, I really like the direction they are headed. Huge school with a ton of money. Largest online enrollment in the world I believe.
they need to stick with the ND and BYU route and be an independent religious school that can play a national schedule and promote themselves. those 3 should play each other.

There are other religions schools in conferences though. I think Liberty would contribute and compete well in football and basketball. I think Aresco would rather not take away a team from another conference.

If we can't be assured of a revenue boost by any addition, I say stay at 11. As an acceptable alternative, a school that has a competitive FB program, a large group of loyal fans that support their team by showing up at the games & that team's school being well within the current footprint of the conference.

Why are you so concerned about the AAC adding or not adding a school? Your school with 50K+ students can't get 15K fans to your games & you can't win your conference, so no chance GA St will be added. Fans & a competitive FB program are minimums which you don't meet. Bring your expert opinions when you meet those minimums.

Then why are you here? Understandably, there is little merit to a GA St association with the AAC.
