Sorry. But, I'm not going to sit in the nose bleeds for this game.
If it was me I would buy 2-4 good seats off of StubHub and 2 from the school in the upper deck, and consider the $200 as a donation.
That's actually not a horrible idea.
Let me see what my Christmas bonus is on Friday...
We have had our run ins, and I appreciate that it's super expensive. If we can just get 4,000 of our fans to buy 2 upper decks, it will be a massive help. You would also know exactly where you are sitting.
This is just a STUPID system when you think about it. Look at that seating chart. From what I've read in various places, this game will probably draw about a 65% to 75% capacity crowd. Now, we're gonna give you 12,500 of the absolute WORST seats (shoved up in a corner), and YOU have to sell those to YOUR fans. Come to think of it, not only did this happen to us at the Birmingham Bowl, the SAME FREAKING THING happened to us (my family) in the Liberty Bowl. We make the donations required to purchase season tickets in the chairbacks on the home side, have for years, and the University's system translated that to LITERALLY 10 rows from the very top on the visitor's side for the bowl game.
Never again.
It's a cash grab. It isn't really a $4 million payoff. It's $1 million worth of tickets for the price of $4 million.

Or yqou can buy it and then flip it on stub hub for a little bit of an offset.
Whatever the math is within the budget. I'm assuming giveaway since gametime tickets will be so cheap. Maybe there is the equivalent to Youth Villages in Arlington.
I know some hate them, but there are Airbnb options for under $200/night and tons under $300/night that sleep 4-8 people in Arlington and DFW.
I just searched on hotels.com and found hundreds of hotels for less than 100 a night, just have to drive a bit. But this is Dallas, you have to drive a bit to get anywhere.

Anybody have a confirmation on where the team is staying? Is it the Gaylord or the Hilton Anatole?

I heard Gaylord based on historically where the “visiting” team stays but haven’t seen it in writing from the university.

My 7 year old boy asked for Memphis bowl tickets (front row?!) for Christmas three weeks ago before we had even played Cincinnati. He and the Tigers made his daddy proud and we are booked...not front row of course. Santa has a budget.
Cannot wait to have this experience with him. His first college game. GTG!

Welcome to the bowl distribution system EVERY bowl game does. Give schools poor corner seats as part of their payout and sell the prime ones themselves.
It’s not a U of M problem, it’s the system itself.
If you look on Ticketmaster’s site, it doesn’t appear to show anymore primary tickets available from the bowl just secondary resell tickets, so basically the game is a sellout from their perspective if the schools don’t return tickets.
The 65-75% attendance some are predicting primarily hurts the resell market, but will have a trickle down effect on the schools selling tickets due to value hunters.
Most important thing is to attend & wear Blue on the visitors side, if you happen to buy from university that is an added bonus for school which hopefully as many as possible choose to do, but not something to judge anyone’s fanhood over.
See you guys there.
