$100 for upper deck.

They have tickets cheaper than $100. The sections in the 400 (and higher) are less than $100.

From the university.
Ive heard people say they look at the screen more than they do the field. Screens are 160' x70' on the sidelines.

So if the choice is buying 4 tickets for a total of $100 or having to spend $400 for the 4 tickets which might mean not being able to go would rather have those 4 there in Tiger Blue

We are fortunate in some ways. We have some disposable income and can make some contributions to TSF in addition to buying tickets, and we are happy to do it. With that, many cannot and I hope they can still go. And sometimes coming up with more money can be tough for us

Not looking for snarky back and forths, just stressing that of course money matters

We are grateful to the higher level donors that support our programs with even more money. I hope the modest income Tiger fans can make it to Dallas any way they can. None of which is to detract from the very recognized idea that to play with the biggest boys it costs

Every dollar helps, everyone of them.

I think some are thinking tickets will not be available based on your status. I am convinced unless there is a huge push we may be sending tickets back.

I mean, if the super well off want to shame those not as well off on how they should spend their money, feel free to subsidize my purchase of four $300 seats. I'll gladly go in half.

Can someone in the know verify this?

The ticket office says the purchases are tiered and based upon your "donor level" so if you are just a "fun zone" ticket holder, you won't be able to buy the $300 club tickets until all those ahead of you have had the opportunity to gobble up the good tickets first.

Thanks for clarifying. And, that makes sense. StubHub here I come. Sorry.

Pay what you have to pay to buy them from the university and give a lower donation next year. Unbelievable.

Stammers....are you buying tickets to the Cotton Bowl or do you just like telling people how to spend their money?

Of course I'm buying tickets. I do every year and give them away.

From what saluki (and others) say, there is no guarantee that I'd get lower level seats thru Memphis. Sorry. But, I'm not going to sit in the nose bleeds for this game.

If it was me I would buy 2-4 good seats off of StubHub and 2 from the school in the upper deck, and consider the $200 as a donation.

Again, our fans can help by buy buying 2 upper decks and by buying good seats on the secondary market.

Buying tickets from Stubhub, Vivid, etc: way less expensive. can choose your seats. doesn't help the university.

If you want to send me a check, so I can go the other route, just let me know and I'll PM you my address and who to make the check out to. Thanks in advance!

Anyone who has been to a game in Jerry's World knows unless you are in the bottom half of the stadium between the 30's you will end up watching 75% of the game from the jumbo flat screen anyway.......& just half the game that way if you're between the 30's.

Ive heard people say they watch the big screens more than the field.
Fyi they're 160' x 70' on the sidelines. see ya there!

We have had our run ins, and I appreciate that it's super expensive. If we can just get 4,000 of our fans to buy 2 upper decks, it will be a massive help. You would also know exactly where you are sitting.

Have you actually called the ticket office and talked to them, or are you just bitching to *****?

If you are a season ticket holder you should have received info from them about tickets to the bowl. You are a season ticket holder, right?

No I don’t have season tickets. I have called the office. I give no money to the university. But I want my $20 tickets to the Cotton Bowl please

The two most important things we can do as fans are :

Join the alumni association. Alumni engagement is one of the measures used in tier ranking universities by orgs like US News. Alumni association is cheap way to help. These tier ranking come into play when conference realignment happens.

Buy season tickets. The family fun zone $400 for 4 tickets is the best deal in college sports. Season ticket numbers help us in conference realignment, bowl selection, etc. Even if you live out of town and can't go to games buy a pair of season tickets and donate them. There are programs to donate season tickets to the military, ronald mcdonald house, etc.

You can look down from your throne of moral superiority all you want, but I did it that way for the last Birmingham Bowl. Never again.

Never again will I purchase tickets without knowing exactly where they are. If the University needs to fix something to make that happen, then they need to fix something to make that happen.

Never.

Again.

This is just a STUPID system when you think about it. Look at that seating chart. From what I've read in various places, this game will probably draw about a 65% to 75% capacity crowd. Now, we're gonna give you 12,500 of the absolute WORST seats (shoved up in a corner), and YOU have to sell those to YOUR fans. Come to think of it, not only did this happen to us at the Birmingham Bowl, the SAME FREAKING THING happened to us (my family) in the Liberty Bowl. We make the donations required to purchase season tickets in the chairbacks on the home side, have for years, and the University's system translated that to LITERALLY 10 rows from the very top on the visitor's side for the bowl game.

Never again.

The University just hit my card for all 8 tickets a few minutes ago. Despite their email stating that they would NOT charge season ticket holders until they had seat assignments. I have not received seat assignments and read that they wouldn't assign them until next monday.

I will be calling the Athletic office in the morning.

Whatever the math is within the budget. I'm assuming giveaway since gametime tickets will be so cheap. Maybe there is the equivalent to Youth Villages in Arlington.

I know some hate them, but there are Airbnb options for under $200/night and tons under $300/night that sleep 4-8 people in Arlington and DFW.
