Wednesday Wondering (EDIT: Internet fake)
Why did Jim McElwain even go to CMU if he was going to leave so soon.

He gone... To Mizzou.

EDIT: (it is a fake).

There's a fake account tweeting this out today. This is NOT confirmed, as far as I can tell.

If not Mizzou, then Ole Miss, or Arkansas! He did what a great coach does at the MAC level win, and move on! ZERO wins in the MAC last season, and now MAC west champions! C Mich invested in a big name, and got what they wanted! I can see the Buffalo coach being next to leave!

RE: Wednesday Wondering (EDIT: Internet fake)
We've only just begun to see these rumors for McElwain.

Why take the job? Because he went 22-12 in three years in the SEC, got canned, and needed a chance to re-brand personally.
Why move on already? Something tells me all three of the SEC openings pay quite a bit more than CMU.

The sad reality is we are fans of universities that can't keep the big-time coach around. Especially in the high-profile (FB, MBB, WBB) sports.

Dear Friends,
While many are praising McElwain for his successes wherever he has been, and now claiming he will move on to the big time again, I have to bring up the unspeakable that is missing in all of this.
He has had baggage at what ever school he has been a coach, even with the successful win record at the three universities he has been head coach. I wouldn't touch this guy with a ten foot pole. It can't just be coincidental that there has been this baggage at three schools. He must be very good at pulling the wool over everybody's eyes. We shall see. Stay tuned.

Urban Meyer, Bobby Pitrino, Hugh Freese, Lane Kiffin, Rick Neuheisel, Bobby Bowden, Butch Davis... what do these gentlemen all have in common?? Guys that left places in scandal and got second (and sometimes more than that) chances.

I know of two scandals for McElwain (saying he received death threats with no proof, the credit card scandal), were there more? What did he do at Colorado State?

Dear truEMU07,
It may not be what he personally did, or may not have known about, but three Colorado State players were caught using steroids and I believe marijuana. These players were not his recruits, so in a way, I could see giving McElwain a break, but he was still their coach, and he left Colorado State after the incident was uncovered.

One (of many) thing that can be said about C.C. is that he has a very strict code of conduct.

I heard on a recruit who signed and did something which would not have disqualified him at others schools and he was gone before he even suited up.

Wow I hadn’t heard of that before! Thanks for sharing.
Always interesting to see what people will do / look past for their high-profile sports.

I have heard similar things. He had the courage also to suspend his best players (Roback and Crosby). As much as I whine about sub par recruiting, Creighton's players deport themselves well at EMU and to this point after graduation as well. We don't have any Kareem Hunts or Antonio Browns.
