OK, then. I'm sold.

Steve visited the new facilities about three weeks ago on a Thursday evening and was given a tour by Ryan.

I'm impressed with the inroads Ryan has made into TN high schools. Especially well east of here.

Ryan was given the toughest task of them all, Middle and East Tennessee. He has flourished.

MN said he was his best recruiter by far.

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm certain we've heard this in the past. The job has to be posted for (x) number of days.

Some detective work on who RS might have been visiting after Brackston Alford. Coach Silverfield said he was in a HS parking lot during the J&J show. Then we get this tweet from the AD at South Doyle HS:

And South Doyle has a WR recruit that committed to Missouri in June, which of course has a new coach. https://www.knoxnews.com/story/sports/hi...485241001/

"Elijah Young returned this past weekend from his official visit to Missouri and knew it was the place for him.

Young, a South-Doyle running back and three-star college prospect, committed to the Tigers on Tuesday, picking Missouri over four other SEC programs — Kentucky, Mississippi State and South Carolina and Tennessee."

Government job so you are likely correct.
Probably not. In Arkansas, you only need approval from the Governor for positions over a certain grade. No need to advertise or interview.

The thing that worries me is almost all of our playcalling and qb development has mainly been MN, that’s great that RS has been approached about other O line positions but real offensive coordinators are much more valuable.

Ryan Day, Dabo, Jimbo, Coach O, Lincoln Riley, etc were all trusted with playcallers

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman"Pittman was the associate head coach and offensive line coach at Georgia and is widely viewed as one of the best recruiters and offensive line coaches in the SEC"

RE: Ryan Silverfield
Kevin Johns called plays as OC at Indiana. They had an explosive offense couldn't stop anybody - this comes not just from an Indiana alum but a Purdue alum.

He worked for Kingsbury last year as OC and also worked for Northwestern for several years under Randy Walker - those were the N'Western teams one of the 1st to run Spread read option and got to a Rose Bowl. So he's got Air Raid Spread experience at Texas Tech as well as run Spread option background. Not bad.

He's smart too. Look at his bio

RE: Ryan Silverfield
Now that Ryan Silverfield is the new Univ of Mphs Tigers HC we can all rest a little easier going into the Cotton Bowl. Team returns to practice Sunday after a week-long rest with the biggest piece of the puzzle in place — who will HC be. Now Silverfield has two-wks to figure out play calling, hunt for a new DC (to start coaching in January but hit the recruiting road NOW), and nail down early signees to 2020 class.

So was Larry Porter.....I don't say that to speak ill of either. The job requires a lot of things. I bet he'll be somewhere between the production of their last 2 HC.

As far as Silverfield, early indications are that we have a Norvell clone.

Might be off here but I think that was a Board of Regents policy. Bureaucracy x 2. We got our own board and the clock got a lot shorter on getting anything approved.

RE: Ryan Silverfield
Time for coach to start filling out his staff, especially the playcallers if he isn't going to do it himself.
