I have read some of the Arkansas sights. They think they are above coach Clark. All I can say is keep thinking that.

I had not seen that Ole Miss fired Luke. That one does worry me.

Luke was an Ole Miss guy and was tossed in short time.
Who wants to be next?

RE: NBR, yet: FBS Job openings
Willie Taggart wants USF to take him back.
Multiple national guys say that Arkansas AD met with Lane Kiffin today. There was a flight from Springdale Arkansas to Bham this late morning supposedly, as well.
Arkansas fans are all over the place. Some don’t realize how bad of a job it is. Others don’t have any idea how good of a coach Clark is. They think a name hire will generate instant revitalization of their program.
mizzou, I haven’t really looked into what’s being said, but it can’t be attractive to take over a program that just got banned from the postseason.
Ole Miss is the one to worry about, but let’s hope they want a name rather than a ball coach. That mess Left behind by Freeze is likely cleaned up.
FSU is too big to dig down into CUSA, in my opinion. Even for Kiffin.

RE: NBR, yet: FBS Job openings
Ole Miss worries me the most, but none of those really seem like jobs worth taking. Why go somewhere where you're pretty much guaranteed to take 3 division losses every year while really ratcheting up the pressure? Money is the only upside for those jobs, but I just don't think Bill is one to chase the pay day. I mean $1.5M living in Birmingham makes you a rich dude. Not to mention he is pretty much a living legend at UAB with zero job pressure, he's from Alabama, spent nearly his whole career in the state, and his family all live close by. It would also surprise me if he leaves before the new stadium opens since he was so instrumental in getting it built.
Based on comments he's made in the past, it seems to me like Clark is more of a program builder vs chasing the next shiny thing. He seems to want to do things that haven't ever been done before. I'm not saying he'll stay forever, but I don't think it's too crazy to think he could be our Bobby Bowden or Bill Snyder - but I think long-term that would hinge on getting into a better conference. I pretty much only see Bill leaving for a powerhouse P5 job and Ole Miss/Arkansas/Missouri aren't powerhouses.

I'm more worried about Auburn when it comes open. The problem with him being a program builder is after two straight trips to the championship game he might consider it build and wants a new challenge.

If he believes that's UAB's ceiling then I could understand thinking his work is done. But I think he has a larger vision of making UAB a nationally relevant, top 25 type team.

RE: NBR, yet: FBS Job openings
Pretty much happens this time every season.
Lots of fans of schools and schools show interest in Clark & then he quietly turns them down.
Then all of these schools, fans, media, etc. get amnesia and forget that Clark was offered & turned down opportunities.
So when the next year comes they act like Clark has never received an opportunity before & they have found the diamond in the rough.
If it was about the money he would take one of the lower end SEC jobs, get paid a wad for 5 or 6 years then retire.
I happen to believe it isn't exactly about the money.
As long as there is work to be done here and steps to be gained and no BS from our administration then he will be happy here.

On the flip side of this if we have an analyst position open Matt Luke might be a great fit

It's not about paying Clark, it's whether or not he's interested in a P5 job.

Disagree. "Tis the season for contract extensions and raises for all good coaches. Schools have to contact Mark first to talk to Bill (usual protocol) so he knows the current level of interest. If someone puts an offer on the table then the negotiations begin. It could be that Bill shuts all this down early and there's nothing else said. But make no mistake every coach knows his market value.

I don't see him at the top of anyone's list, yet. Arkansas seems to think they will land Kiffin and Ole Miss will go after Norvell at Memphis first. Napier at Louisiana-Lafayette seems to be getting a lot of talk.
ESPN article on Ole Miss opening (Clark mention)
