I know, historically, the NCAA hasn't given a rats a$$ on what public opinion was, what the ESPN guys said, what the rulebreaker's intent was, and certainly didn't care what an unrelated-to-the-case lawyer says on Twitter.

That being said, they could at least begin to generate some goodwill and maybe change public perception a little bit if they were to come out and say "We realize that, while the letter of the law was broken, the spirit of the law was not. There was never any intent for the $11,500 to entice Mr. Wiseman to sign with Memphis, and the young man didn't do anything wrong. Therefore, we are counting the exhibition games and Bahamas trip as time-served, and he will not be required to sit any further games."

The last sentence could read, He will be ineligible for Alcorn State and Little Rock. I'd be fine with that.

I really want to see JW play against NC State and UT.

I attended a CLE yesterday and Leslie Ballin was one of the speakers. He talked about Wiseman for about 10 minutes. He hinted that he thinks there will be news a week from today...the day before we play olemiss.
